Definitely want to head to a CL game but trying to figure out best way to do it. Do you reckon you could get back to Gatwick or other airport using train after the game? Best case would be get train back out close to gatwick after game, stay in hotel there overnight and then early flight back home next morning.

Thanks

Bloc hotel at Gatwick is in the South Terminal. It's basic but convienient.

Get a train from Gatwick to West Hampstead. Then cross over to the Underground at West Hampstead and get the Tube to Wembley.

The return trip will be the reverse ..... of course!

Living in Crawley I get a train past Gatwick to Three Bridges (literally the next station) so it is very possible.

I hope so, I'm doing the same trip back to Gatwick with an overnight and early flight out! Looking at trainline.com the West Hampstead > Gatwick looks fine from a timings perspective!

It also depends on how kind the trains are at the time. More often than not there are delays to London at least. Coming home I don't seem to have as much of a problem.

There are usually massive queues leaving Wembley. I went for an England friendly and we were stood on Wembley way for nearly an hour in solid foot traffic. Make sure you factor in a good block of time for your return journey.

Its not like WHL where people walk off in different directions helping the flow, everyone (train passengers anyway) walks the same way to Wembley Park station. Also there is more people so expect a long wait.

Any insight into travel by car to Wembley? I would be coming from the West on the North Circular. Parking? getting away after match?

Parking won't be a problem. The official car park is a fucking rip-off though.
I tend to go for one of the smaller private ones on the industrial estate.
Either way - book in advance.
As for getting away - it's easier now than it was 15 years ago, but still a bit of a nightmare.

With regards to trains, there are 2 stations, so it's not really the case that everyone goes to Wembley Park.
If I get a ticket I'll be using Wembley Central, which is 15-20 min walk from the stadium.
That station supports the line from Euston to Birmingham, and London Midland always add Wembley Central as a stop if there's a stadium event as well as having regular London Overground, not to mention Bakerloo line underground service.

That's a very good call

I'm not sharing my tip for avoiding the queues at Wembley. Or i'll be late like the rest of you :)

I went to Ireland - Argentina in the rugby World Cup which set the attendance record and the getaway wasn't as bad as I feared. Mind you for the champions league games we are right around the wrong side of the stadium.

I don't suppose they've magically built a pub near Wembley that isn't a complete hole have they?

Hoping to take my daughter to both a CL game at Wembley and also to WHL before they shut the ground but haven't traveled down in years, am not a lilywhite/bronze member. Would be her first ever spurs game live Can anyone advise me on my best way of getting some tickets? can be fairly flexible on which game(s) to come down for, is my best bet to become a member or would that not help without loyalty points, i don't really know the system.
Thanks for any help

I think the "General Sale" window is available now but would throw doubt on any being available via the official channel. Your best bet if that's the case is Stub Hub. Good luck though.

The system has changed for Home League matches this season and there is now , basically, a lottery for all Non A category matches where all Bronze/ Lilywhite members have an equal chance of securing tickets. Loyalty points are only a factor for away matches and category A Home Matches. I don't see you getting a home ticket this season without being members and it also entitles you to use the stub-hub facility. I somehow think there may be some general sale CL tickets, as it is a big stadium to fill, especially as we haven't drawn the glamour teams but that is only me guessing. Good luck.

brilliant thanks a million for that. Train is about an hour from Gatwick to West Hampstead and then only 10 mins from West Hampstead to Wembley so thats not bad.

Do you have to be a member to use stub hub? Bad news if you do because that will be another few quid for the trip

when you say rip off, how bad? as a blue badge holder the industrial areas are too far a walk, even the Wembley one will cripple me if i do get tickets

I'm fairly sure you do, yes. I was going to add that there would almost certainly be general sale tickets available for League cup matches and (possibly) FA cup matches if these were convenient .

Anyone know what time last tube run please? Coming in on A12. Thinking of parking at Newbury park and tubing it in. Just worried about getting out. Unless someone has a better idea.

Sunderland tickets are available on General Sale at the moment (I had two in my basket yesterday) so it's not true that they are selling to members only.

Wembley Stadium website has a link to the official car park. £30 for our games.
Even the unofficial car parks are currently showing £25 for stadium events, yet for arena events is 9.99 despite being same car park!
