I've seen him in the flesh now.

He looks very small and stocky and I can't help thinking that the liking towards Ronaldinho is wide of the mark.

Just watching him play with the ball makes me lean more to someone else.

Maradona.

Don't tar us all with that brush. Some of us don't act as if some player is the second coming until he's played a few games.

Where did you see him? Did he have an unveiling at the lane?

Can't he just be the new Giovanni? He has got a lot to live up to just based on his career to date, never mind emulating the obvious comparisons.

He didnt say if it was Maradona when he was playing for Argentina in the world cup final, Maradona when he was drugged up playing for Argentina, or Maradona now.

This far too ambiguous for my liking

Rupstoh hardly said he is the new Maradona he just implied he more resembles that kind of physique than he does Ronaldinho.

Would very much like to know where you saw him play mate, or do you mean from internet clips?

'In the flesh' suggests not from internet clips...

I presume it was some kind of unveiling at Spurs Lodge/WHL?

He hardly resembles Maradona in physique!

Gio has very strong legs. Clearly he's spent a lot of time in the gym bulking up, and Barca's doctors are experts in strengthening young players, the obvious example being Messi.

But, crucially, Dos Santos has an explosive burst of pace. Juande has commented on this. He also can shoot very powerfully with a short backlift - like Defoe. Put that together with excellent technique and an outstanding football brain, and he has the potential to be quite a player.

Ramos has already commented on Gio's ability to operate in various positions, (right, left and centrally), and he's perfect for the superfast, counter-attacking football that typified Juande's Sevilla side.

I'd heard he was more like Messi in build and playing style, hence part of the reason he left Barca, knowing that he would seriously struggle to get regular starts with Messi in the team.

He's got the head of Ronaldo, the arms of Frank de Boer, the torso of Patrick Berger, the legs of Maradona and the feet of Ivan Campo.

Jenas has shown signs of a quality player, but I still think he is young enough to still develop into a quality player... especially with Ramos in charge!
