I think this makes so much sense because either Lenglet crushes it and we've restored a fine motor or there's plenty of top LCB's that in 12 months time will have improved and more chance of availability, I think this is so opportunistic in terms of using it as an opportunity to land a potentially world class CB despite him not being the top LCB we originally planned on.

Maybe agents/reps are asking for huge fees to make the deal happen? If the salary isn't the problem, not sure what else as part of personal terms would be an issue.

Thanks @What Lies Beneath

I'd be very happy with either Bremer or Torres. Prefer the defensive beast of Bremer but think Torres is a top player also.

Torres similar to Lenglet but both can play CCB and LCB. If we brought both in you'd hope at least would make that LCB slot their own.

I read that as we need to sell our plans and our expectations, even the idea of living in London to him rather than financials which I'm sure we can match Inter on.
Yep, we’ve already heard that he wants to get his Italian passport, so it’s no guesses what the sticking point is. It’s obviously not the money.

Don't get your hopes up on this. I was listening to a Spurs space and an Inter Journo was almost certain that Bremer would go there. He said there might be more of a chance nearer the end of the window if Inter still hadn't signed him, but I'm not sure if Conte will wait that long.
He also said the Inter situation (60m profit) only had to happen by the end of the transfer window, and not by today, which is very disappointing.

Edit: reading what WLB has written above, hopefully the Inter Journo was wrong.
Inter are really are a fucking circus horrible club .

If it is true and his agent is in london this week to talk to English clubs then he can’t be that adverse to moving here. Unless he’s just trying to get inter to up personal terms by showing them what clubs here are offering him.

Yeah but didn’t one of the ITK in here say once his wife is getting an Italian passport and he will be entitled through her

being dumb like I am- WTF have Inter got to do with a player from another league?
If bremmer is trying to get an Italian passport there must be ways if they think it is open for him?
They have turned us over so many times recently we should treat them like Chelsea and just ignore them!

You do wonder when Inter will start to feel the squeeze.

They could have gad £50m for Bastoni weeks ago, but thought they could shift Skriniar instead. But with PSG in no hurry, they are at risk of losing other targets.

Something has to give, even if they don't need to make themselves whole until the end of August.

He won't.

Edit - technically he can get an Italian passport through her but he doesnt just want a passport. Fifa won't let him switch countries through his spouse

Quite a few hurdles to jump over on this one but at least from what @What Lies Beneath suggests that these aren't insurmountable or at least we (Paratici) has been busy putting measures in place to mitigate Bremer and his families concerns.

Still can't believe he hasn't been capped for Brazil yet but now with Richarlison coming in, we've got a strong Brazilian contingent now at Spurs which should hopefully help him and his family settle quicker in London.

I don't think the passport itself is the issue, it's more to do with potential eligibility to represent Italy at international level. Even if he did qualify for an Italian passport through his wife, he still would not be eligible to represent Italy unless he had lived in the country for five years. As things stand currently, he has only lived there for 4 years.

thanks @What Lies Beneath , great updates as always. very interesting that it's the 'extras' that are key here, typical of any deal involving inter i guess.

you can go back to bed now (y)
