Gomes is fine. He's such an improvement on Robinson it's unreal. Last night there would be no worries over his performance had Hutton kept his man. Everyone needs to stop falling for every word the media print. Because the papers say he's rubbish and fault for everything doesn't mean he is.

I hope so DarT but we need to be clear of danger well before then, otherwise Harry will be ruthless and will remodel the defensive block.

If Ledley (at the back) continues to be intermittent with his appearances we'll want stability in central defence and with one stroke may solve our defensive crisis.

Otherwise if we do look at replacing the Brazilian, I'd go for Foster or Rob Green from West Ham.

I don't need the papers to tell me what I see and I'm being vocal because Gomes has been poor. He's certainly not at fault for many of our defensive problems and has been monumental on occasion with world class saves, as I've opined in another Gomes thread, but when he makes a mistake, and there's been more than a few, they tend to be fatal. We have to win by scoring two goals, not one.

Carson when they go down. Or Foster in January if Gomes is still being shit, which I expect will be the case.

Yes there would've....there would still be massive issues.

He making mistakes every game. Now at the start I was urging people to relax and give him time, everybody makes gaff's but its becomming every game now. It cannot continue.

Personally I would love (and would've loved) to see us get the hoalie goalie Artur Boruc. Very safe pair of hands, solid keeper and good shot stopper.

Would be perfect if we could broker a swap deal with Celtic during Jan for Gomes and Boruc.

Of course he's an improvement over Robbo. But being .01% better than horrible isn't a standard that will help us survive.

So you're saying that even John Danby of Chester wouldn't want to join us because of the mess we are in? Give it a month and we'll be up further in the table and some of the keepers in the lower division will change their mind

Nice to see you getting your support behind our players again Kendall.

To be fair, it's the same mantra being rolled out as the one that steamrollered Robinson out of the club - mass paranoia wins every time. In the end even Gomes will believe it and take the role of really being shyte on. Job done.

Gomes looked like a clown when we played PSV....now we have the clown in our own goal...

He can make some fantastic saves, but also some silly mistakes...

If he can get rid of the mistakes he will be world class. I hope Redknapp can do with Gomes what he did with James....

It is absolutely ridiculous that some fans are saying lets change keepers. What about the defenders in front of him?

A few PSV fans have told me that he is a very good keeper, so lets give him a chance, eh?

Why don't we get a good goalkeeping coach instead? Give him some input in what to do and what not do. He got the qualities to be a fantastic goalkeeper/matchwinner. I hope he gets things sorted out before january!

Don't expect Redknapp to work miracles with Gomes based on the form of David James over recent seasons. James started working on his agility and physical state whilst at Man City. He also started studying psychology to aid his concentration and focus and it's all the work he has done off his own back that has eliminated the 'calamity' tag that was associated with him.

Tribal is linking us with Nilson.

Tottenham are eyeing Vitoria Guimaraes goalkeeper Nilson.

New Spurs boss Harry Redknapp was impressed by Nilson’s performance in last week’s UEFA Cup clash with Portsmouth.

Pompey are also keen on Nilson, along with Deportivo La Coruna. (tribalfootball.com)
