Just to add to the general silliness, Gazetto della Sport says we and Liverpool are duking it out for this bloke's signature. Well, so Tribal reckons. Swiss international midfielder, plays for Udinese.

Did I see City linked with him a few days ago?

From those stats he's not a goal scorer so does he offer a bit more defensive toughness?

He is defensive midfielder, so can't see why we wouldn't be after him as that's what we need

1.82m, eh?

Now is that taller or shorter than Darren Bent...?

Nothing like Joey Barton. Some of you may have heard me call Handanovic a clown when we were linked to him, since he is maybe the last Udi player I would want us to ever be linked with. Inler on the other hand would be the first player I would want us linked with. He has impressed me every time I have been up to the Friuli this season and when I have seen the away games on the box.

I say he is nothing like Joey Barton, because he is a very cultured player. Technically he is fantastic, great touch on the ball and plays superb passes from deep. He has a wonderful awareness for the game and an understanding of the players around him. He is strong, willing to put his foot in and then start the play. He is more like Carrick (although not completely the same as he is more likely to drive with the ball and uses his physicality more) than Barton. His passing is definately the best part of his game but he also has a decent strike on him. He has been a massive hit with the Udi fans.

Incidentally I read the article in Gazzetta at lunch time and we weren't mentioned. They seemed to think he had a 70% chance of staying at Udi, 10% to Liverpool, 10% to Inter and 10% to other.

Fair do's, i was just going on one tackle on youtube!! If he's like Carrick (although he seems stronger) and is defensive, could be a great buy.. Why are Pool after him, dont they have enough DM's!!!??

He's played really well this season and Mancini at Inter has stated Inler is one of the players he's after (togehter with Hleb and Konko).
Wikipedia have him listed at 189 cm, while others have various heights, down to 182 cm.

Also victim of one of the worst dives of all time:

Haha I was at that game, and Del Piero was absolutely hopeless the whole game. I think I described him as the worst footballer I had ever seen live after it. Dave scored 6 seconds after coming on as sub. I couldn't see me in that clip though, I was in the stand that you see on the left.

Yeh he is stronger and more likely to put in a tackle rather than an interception, but it has been his passing that has impressed me. Carrick is too far, but it was just meant in that he was more like Carrick than Barton.

Is he an out-and-out DMF, that will hold back or more like an box-to-box player, similar to, say, Lucho Gonzalez?
Hard to say of course but do you think he's got the strength to dominate a CMF in EPL?

He is a DMF. He has the ability to play in the Premiership as a DM. Whether he can dominate a midfield I don't know, I think we would need the right balanced unit for that.
