So unlikely but, with Real pulling out of pushing for Bale and strange noises surrounding this Higuain deal, may we have found our 'special arrangement'?

I would be schadenfreuding so hard if it were to happen, but you've got to imagine for Higuain CL Football is pretty damned important.

Can't imagine him joining us to be honest but could they be stringing the Gooners along...? One minute he's definitely joining, the next he might not be available etc...

This is not true. If you understand spanish I'd link a vid of Floren commenting on Higuaín right after seeing Higuaín's interview where he stated he want to leave. In 2010 Floren tripled Higuaín's wage when whole Europe was after him.

Floren hasn't signed a player since Robinho. Kaká and Ronaldo were necessary because Audi, Coca Cola and 12 other companies threatened to either reduce the amount of money they invest in the club or pull out completely.

Anyway Higuaín right now is closer to stay than to leave, but the relationship between the board and his family is quite bad so a move will always be likely if the right offer come in.

We won't sign another forward even if Higuaín leave which makes it even harder for potential buyers because he's still considered part of the 1st team.

Arsenal don't have money, they won't sign him anytime soon unless they are prepared to spend big money. Media is just making things up

Wish I could rate this 'informative' and 'like'.

Spanish is my native language. What Perez says to the media is different from what he wants.
He may have tripled his wages but that's because he had no choice. It would've been a political disaster for him if he sold him.
I am from Argentina, and have family working for River Plate, and they've always told me that Perez didn't want Higuain because he was a buy from the previous president. And that comes from Jorge Higuain, his father and also former player of River.

With all due respect there is no chance you know what Pérez want and think. To me this sound very sensationalist.

Everything started away at Betis in 11/12 season, after the game Higuaín hinted at a possible move. From then on untill the end of the season his family whored him right, left and centre. In may 2012 Higuaín had terms agreed with Juventus and his father was seen in Paris with PSG representatives, his father also offered him to Man City and Bayern. All this without the knowledge of the Club.

This is Mou on the situation [I translated the important bits];

Obviously the Club and the fans want him to stay. If somebody instead of acting behind our backs come and pay the release clause there's nothing we can do.

I speak on behalf of the president; it's his decision not[to accept] even a €uro below the release clause because we don't want to sell.

I only want to say there are people who forget their players are property of the clubs until they are under contract.

When you're there offering something that isn't yours in France, England, Italy and Germany you offer something that isn't yours unless you pay 150 millions[Higuaín's release clause]

http://www.abc.es/agencias/noticia.asp?noticia=1166215

That's the whole story.

Every time his father and brother appear in the local media key point of discussion is always money.

This vid is from the official presentation of emirates airlines as the new shirt sponsor. Ronaldo said to Higuaín Pipa quédate [stay here] Higuaín responded Mejor pagado o me voy [Better paid or I'm going].
Joke or not it portray him and the whole story to perfection.

Any chance for spurs on Jese?
Of course why not. The problem with Jesé was, Mou crossed him out after Jesé ignored some tactical instruction during a friendly game in Usa last year and since then Mou's been trying to rid him from the club. Now the whole situation is different with Mou gone and Zidane already promoted him to the 1st team and Jesé is expected to sign another contract soon, but in reality nothing is certain regarding his future.

depends if his back holds out,... 100k per week sick note could be problematic... I bet Giroud will be overjoyed at the news :grumpy:

Was the info about his back widely reported, or is it just a rumour?

Not having a go, genuinely interested

I think you didn't read what I posted. What I said about Perez was said by Jorge Higuain. You think there's a chance he would know, or would it also be sensationalist??

Besides that, not giving Higuain a pay rise, is an indirect way of showing him the door. He's earns nothing in comparison with the rest, and he's one of the most important.

You can say to the media that you want him to stay and bla bla, buy if you don't do something to make him comfortable in the club, you are practically throwing him out.
It's like if Bale was now earning 40k a week while the rest of the team earn over 100k, and we say to the media that we want him to stay. Well then do something about it.

Personally speaking, he may be a decent player (not decent enough to warrant a regular game for Real apparently...) but if the post about his rotten attitude is accurate, and there's no reason to suspect it isn't, I wouldn't want him anywhere near my club.

I reckon there are three things any player should have in abundance to make him the real package. One, a good solid family behind him, two, natural ability and three, the right mental attitude (respect, humility, keeness to learn and dedication to succeed).

I wouldn't like to say how many of those qualities Higuain has, but it seems to me he's lacking in two of those factors.

I've watched a fair bit of Higuain and although he is undoubtedly a very good striker, I think 23 million for him is quite steep tbh. Especially when you add in his signing on fee, 100k a week wages, bonuses etc.

If Arsenal get him though he will undoubtedly strengthen them, and fair play to them for showing some ambition but I don't think he is worth quite that much if I am honest (a bit like I felt with Dzeko tbh).

I don't have any knowledge of this but, if Mr.Baldini was the one who got GH to sign for RM and he is less than happy, doubt we could nip in and trump the goons' approach.....

time to put some pressure on RM and hijack the move maybe now the DV deal is off?

they apparently still owe us some modric money and they'll still want bale next year. we're holding the cards.

We have no cards if Higuain doesn't want to join us.
