Attractive football since Harry? We were playing attractive football last season banging in 3 goals a game at the end.
1 goal scored in 3 home games and lack of goalmouth action and no players in the box just like under AVB is not attractive to me.

Attractive football? You joker. That 'football' lacked any form of structure or tactical input, the guy was playing multiple players out of position.

We also got battered by West Ham amongst other sides, we made 24 defensive errors leading to goals, squad morale was at an all time low, players were looking to leave, and we were being mismanaged by a complete moron who wanted to sign Winston Reid, Ryan Shawcross and Andy Carroll.

Why am i not surprised you were a fan of Sherwood.

We played great football and scored great goals. Don't try to re-write history.

We scored some great goals, which was great considering what went before but I tend to side with those that say there was no real strategy. The players had 6 months of expressing themselves and running abaaaat a bit, which ultimately I think was good for them, but there was a lack of cohesion.

That said, Sherwood does get far more criticism on here than he should. He did well in my view, he got our players enjoying playing football against from what I could see.

Got any links to those accusations? Wow..you really are one angry dude.

All those players out of position and Tim still scored more points than any manager in our history. How did that happen?

Anyway I want to improve in the future and a little bit of 4-4-2 will do the trick for me.

Totally agree with the OP, however my main concern is the patience levels of Levy and the fans at the ground.

We are in ninth place at the moment and unfortunately many will look at that and nothing else. I was really pleased with four points from the last three games, didn't expect that many. But we've a run of what should be easier games now and we really need a good haul of points to keep the naysayers quiet.

A half decent points haul before Christmas and a couple of shrewd improvements in the January window and I will be a very happy man.

Good post. Not defending the negative people on here but I was quite negative after the game on Saturday, I think that is fairly natural after a defeat. A lot of the posts happen during or immediately after the game when feelings are running high. After sleeping on it and looking at things with a more balanced point of view, I do think there are a lot of positives to take from our recent performances. Turning this team around was never going to be an overnight job and I think Poch is still not decided on his best 11 and he will no doubt have a fairly good idea of the type of players he wants to bring in next summer. Although I do feel that Kaboul will need to be replaced if he cannot find more consistent form. I was really disappointed wit his performance, especially after the encouraging signs against Arsenal.

Erm.....what was that about rewriting history?

I gave Ramos time. I gave AVB time-and our performances got worse not better. It is not time that is the issue it is inflexiblilty.

The only good thing I can see so far from MoPo is with regards to identifying players that needed to go. I have confidence that the squad will improve in quality and that players that are not good enough will leave. We should then have a leaner squad and with more youngsters-more passion and ambition. But on the footballing side unless he starts playing 2 proper strikers (at least at home) I can't see our performances improving short or medium term and long term impractical stubborn tactical dogma will be his undoing.

I think it's unfair to judge him based on what your experience of Ramos and AVB.

I agree that we need a leaner squad and more passion and heart in the team. However, I think that it's incredibly simplistic to think that switching to two strikers at home is the answer.

.

No, our record points haul was gained under AVB, not Tim. I think Tim officially has a better win percentage than AVB or 'Arry?, but he was in charge for a LOT less games than either of those so a completely meaningless stat.

No our record points was under Tim. And it is not a meaningless stat.
But it is the future which concerns me. That is now just 1 win in our last 6 games.
Things need to change.

Edit: Actually, it seems you forgot about the QPR game. Good one.

Record points what? Record half season total? Is that even a worthwhile record?

Straw clutching slightly I believe.

So you want a complicated answer?
Give the manager time is the simple (in both senses of the word) cry.

No, we finished last season with 69 points, with Tim in charge. We finished the previous season to that with 72 points, under AVB.

As you well know and understand Spurs scored more points per game under Tim than any other manager in our history
OK, you are definitely Tim. Only Tim actually came out with that stat time and time again.

I guess you wanted him to stay.

LOL.

Oh, so PPG not record season total.

Maybe someone will be foolhardy enough to give him a job long enough not to base a PPG on such a small sample and make it slightly more meaningful.

But AVB managed us until December.

I'm sure Sherwood got more points per game.
