We can keep the 4 at the back, but just drop 1 of the ACM to sit in with Rice. They can break forward iff needed but that could free up some space for the attacker's.

At times it's just too congested and we just don't give ourselves any space.

Don't agree.
Henderson and rice are there to win the ball back and get it to Foden, Bellingham, Rashford and Kane.

Walker and Shaw will also get forward from the back. Plenty of attacking options in there.

I can’t think of anyone in football who talks so well but delivers as little as Southgate. In an ideal world he’d be a great “team manager” if he had a top head coach to coach and select the side, decide on tactics and make substitutions.
