I coach my daughter’s U11 team in the Eastern Suburbs in Sydney. Before Sunday my daughter was the only player at the club that I have seen wear a Spurs shirt at training.

On Sunday I helped out at the boy’s U10 trials. There were about 70 boys and about half of them wore the club shirts. Of the remainder there was a great variety of club shirts. Barcelona was the most common – 5 boys were wearing them but the great surprise was Spurs was second and worn by 3 boys – with 2 having a player’s name – Bale & Van der Vaart. All shirts were new as they had either of the current sponsors.

There were many other usual club shirts worn by 1 or 2 boys including ManU, Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Roma, Juventus and Sydney FC.

I believe that our attacking focus and attractive style of play is bringing a whole new generation of fans to our club.

I would presume this phenomenon may also be taking place across Asia as well. It augurs well for our club to join the world elite.

Mate, that is fantastic!

I am a Paddo lad living in London these days. However, my folks moved from Tottenham to Sydney in the '70s. For many years, my bro (username 'guy' on SC) and I were the only kids we knew that supported English football, let alone Spurs.

These days, it's great to see guys like yourself and the lads who organise and attend the OzSpurs functions (which I will be at when home in a couple of weeks) - promoting THFC.

Well done  - repped.

Cheers,
Ravo
