Fair comment, hadn't considered that. We're very light on homegrown players at the moment so not sure that's even possible

Bet your arse that if that did happen and he did well at another club that the revisionism on here would be a glorious sight to behold.I’d rather have him in the squad and complain he’s not good enough rather than have £40m and see him doing well elsewhere.
Not sure how he'd play under a very good manager who would improve him and play with world class players as well as hoover up a load of trophies.
But there is an argument that he does improve teams and the way they play.Since when does Guardiola improves players? Most of his players are already world class by the time they become available to his coaching.

As Mourinho pointed out at the time, Spurs possibly thought Trippier was better. Southgate obviously now agrees. So the damage to our first team strength primarily came from Trips’ unexpected and temporary decline.no... just no stop selling key to mid team players to rivals... the kyle walker sale was bad enough ffs.. levy should of be chased out of town after that sale.. was embarassing to a key rival when was also a top 3/4 team.

Sterling, Jesus, Sane, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Laporte, Walker, Foden to name a few.
And even if you are world class that doesn't mean you don't get better.
