Bongani close to Spurs return

Tottenham Hotspur defender Bongani Khumalo will soon start full training again after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a knee injury.

The 27-year-old ruptured his patella tendon in Bafana Bafana's 5-0 friendly loss to Brazil at Soccer City on March 5.

However, Khumalo is on the way back, according to his agent Glyn Binkin.

"He is two to three weeks away from starting full-time training," Binkin tellsKickOff.com.

"He is a Tottenham Hotspur player and there is no truth to reports of him leaving. He has a contract with the club until next season," Binkin adds of the former SuperSport United man.

Fair play to him for coming back. He's got no chance getting into our team though.

Has he ever had a good loan spell?

I feel kind of bad for this guy, unless we made it blatantly clear to him that he was a marketing ploy and was cool with the paycheck.

We should call up Woodward. Heard they are looking for another CB. 20m for Khumalo should make him feel like he scored a real deal this time around.

I honestly have no idea if he's any good or not, i've never seen him play even a friendly for us and he's been here, what, four years? five?

Where's @Spursking when you need him??
