I must admit that every time a high ball came in, I was scared to death at the time Mabbutt played CD. But every time he seemed to be able to head the ball clear despite looking tolosing his balance at the end of his jump.

Seemingly intelligent Briton's not knowing the real name of their own flag really bloody annoys me! It's only called a Union Jack when flying on the mast of a boat. So rep to you for knowing your British trivia.

Also Hawaii is the only US state ever to have the British union flag embedded in its own which was in thanks for defending them against the Spanish. Which is different to saying 'Hawaii is the only state of the US with the Union Jack still on it's flag' which implies other states did have the union flag on theirs.

In fairness, the Stars & Stripes once had the Union flag instead of the stars...

Perhaps that was what he was referring to?

True but that was the 13 colonies umbrella flag and not on the individual states flag which is what was being referred to.

In San Francisco there is this building that has all the previous US flags flying outside it except one. No prizes for guessing which one.

Yep, realised that - just remembered seeing that flag at school in Texas and being shocked (as a 10 year old Brit who hadn't done much US history up to that point).

Not shocked they left out that one in SF!

If you're going to be critical, then make sure your post is infallible. No need for an apostrophe here...

Anyone else scrutinise this post for the smallest slip-up..?

Oh shoot me

Maybe I was showing I am fallible...

That was indeed really anal. I'm sorry for being an impudent know-it-all* and I shan't do it again sir.

*when I say 'know it all', I didn't actually know the fact about the Union Flag/Jack...

who gives a shit about the union flag? (it's always referred to as the union jack on tv, so it's an easy mistake to make) it's a disgusting flag & I hate everything it symbolises.

With his reading of the game, could he play D/M ?
I saw him play left back at Reading in the FA Cup, and he looked very good at covering his central defenders, and not bad at jumping. He also likes to go forward, and could also well finish up at LB, with Bale in front of him on the left.

Gunter has been outstanding for us but has moved to Spurs and is not getting the amount of football we had hoped he would.

But he wouldn't have got the opportunity to mark Ronaldo at Cardiff...
