Not able to post in here for some reason:

So had to open a new thread.

Today, Dinamo apparently showed the press the original offer from Tottenham for Alen Halilovic. They claim that the offer is still valid and according to it Dinamo would receive 13m euros as a transfer fee and Halilovic would receive 6m euros in total. Again, the Halilovic family didn't accept the offer at the time as they deemed Alen to not be ready for English football.

Dinamo also claimed that they rejected an offer from Barcelona for Halilovic. They claim Barcelona offered 15m euros, but that some of it was based on performances. Halilovic would first play for Barcelona B and then eventually move up to the first team.

P.S. They also added that there have been negotiations with both Bayern and Inter over the last 6 months.

He'd probably find it easier to break into the Barca team at the moment. Looks so good on the ball. Plus the fear that other teams have of Barca, you'd think he'd have more time on the ball. In the prem, he'd be kicked out of some games.

He is a talent but I can see same problems like with Lamela.

We already have 7 offensive midfielders in the squad and he will need time what we don't have. 13m pounds is a very risky thing, no matter how talented he is. English football has his own rules I sometimes think.

Waste of money... not the player but the fact there are numerous players he'd be competing with for a position.

Unless there is an exodus we have more appropriate players to spend the money on.

Sell siggurdson and Lennon (unless new manager can finally get him to kick on and stop beign such a pansy by not taking on players anymore), contribute proceeds towards halilovic.

Google translated and it's a BAD one! Hopefully someone who speak Italian can read the original and make sense of it:

EXCLUSIVE TMW - WyScout, Inter: Halilovic goodbye. Spurs to a step

Alen Halilovic
at Tottenham. The deal is near, in the summer can get a free transfer. And 'as collected in these moments from Tuttomercatoweb.com going to WyScout Forum ending at this moment. One last bang, from the corridors of the Emirates: a bargain for the summer, which is materializing after braking the last period by the boy's father, born in 1996 from Dinamo Zagreb that is tempting also to Inter.

I don't understand what that is saying, as it mentions the Emirates, us and Inter. Where is he going?

EXCLUSIVE TMW - Farewell to Arsenal: Halilovic about to join Tottenham

20.12.2013 18.45 by Claudio Colla read 170

As come to know by TMW at WyScout Forum, Dinamo Zagreb and Croatian NT 1996-born offensive midfielder Alen Halilovic (17) is about to join Tottenham, finally, after a long negotiation. The player was tracked by Arsenal as well, and several European clubs, among which Real Madrid, Inter and Bayern Munich, happened to survey him.

Why on earth would he want to come to us now? i can only assume nobody else actually put in a bid.

Don't you think maybe things had progressed behind the scenes after the summer. I understand your point but we never seemed to give up on this deal and maybe once something goes so far down a route it becomes almost unstoppable. Of course if this is true it just reenforces the feeling that the player and his father see us more as a development stage in his career and a stage to gain greater attention. Still better a good player for a few years than none at all and there's always the possibility that if we ever get our act together and start seeing some real success we could convince our better players to stay

Honestly, he would come here for the same reason Modric did, he recognizes us as a selling club. We are his stop before he is off to Barcelona, Bayern or Madrid.

And really there's nothing wrong with that, if the lad is ambitious he will want to shine because if he doesn't those clubs won't come knocking. If we want to keep the best players we need to be the best so lets hope we also show ambition

Because he wants game time soon no doubt, especially with his recent flirtations with the Croatian senior team. He'd be surrounded by a decent squad of young players, which would be worthwhile if he wants to follow in the steps of Modric.

However, I'd rather we just recall Carroll and save the money for other positions of need. Really want to see Carroll succeed at Spurs, because he will somewhere else if not.
