God is 56 today. Happy Birthday.

It was a pleasure to go to the Lane and watch this boy when a tackle was a tackle and players screamed in pain because they were in pain. The days of chopper and bite your legs, Hoddle stood out playing with his 'moral courage' as Brian Clough put it.

My idol as a lad. What a player

That goal against Shilton (just to recall 1 moment of genius) stuff I'll never forget

He was before my time, but I've seen enough clips to see he's amazing and heard how brilliant he was from other people to know he is an all time great.

However, the way he conducts himself on TV when covering Spurs games and his general persona suggest he's a bit of a dick as a person. I can imagine him being very hard work to deal with in a conversation. He also seems bitter against Spurs, possibly for his dismissal as manager, which is a stark contrast to Arsenal legends that appear on TV who look like they'd have a punch up live on the air in favour of their team.

I have never noticed it myself, I think he's always been a realist when it comes to Spurs and what they need. He is like Gary Neville, a hardcore fan of his boyhood club yet plays the neutral man during games.

If you watch outside interviews he is very pro Spurs and loves the club. Quite a few of the English players said he was the best ever manager they had at international level, yet his man management wasn't up there. He believed more in the technical side of the game than all huff and puff, and had new ideas, unfortunately we went back when he was fired.

Wenger was always an admirer saying he was one of the best players he ever managed, just under appreciated in England because he didn't run around like a headless chicken

Happy Birthday to the great man
