Bloody hell, i'm still in shock. Judging by the specific complaints about Ramos, at least Redknapp will sort those (communication etc). Time will tell if he can get us in the top 4.

Just wondering now if a certain Mr. Defoe might be visiting White Hart Lane in January. They are close personal friends and worked together a lot at different clubs. Or is that too much?

Get that notion of Top 4 out of your head now!!

looking for a quick fix.he's 61 years old so no doubt we will be looking for another new manager within the next 2-3 years.

if he keeps us up then job done but thats about as much as he's gonna do for us i think.

or he will get us promoted next season!!!!

lets get behind the man - forget the west ham stuff - he knows how to do his job and get the players working as a team - I guarentee he will buy the sort of players we are all crying out for and have a balanced team - he knows how to play good football but he also knows how to grind out 1-0 wins - lets all stand together on this - the DoF is gone and there should be no more arguing in the boardroom, lets all stand together on the terraces

not if the stewards have anything to do with it - and don't let UEFA know we still have terraces

well i'm hoping he will be here 3 years exactly, retires and Big Martin Jol returns after his contract has ended at Hamburg which is a 3 year term.

It is GREAT news...NOT...When did an English Manager last win anything of note...in the EPL or Europe? On that basis we can set our sights on the Title in 2020?

if we set the parameters of success for this season as winning something, then we are doomed to failure. We cannot look past survival this year - that will be a success for us. It was wanting too much too soon that got us into this mess and you can be damned sure it will have the same effect again if we let it

At least he knows the league, and is good in the transfer department. I'll cheer him on as always.

I think its quite funny how we clearly had him lined up before sacking Ramos, JUST like we had Ramos lined up before sacking Jol-how come that hasnt caused an uproar this time round????

bcos the way it was done clearly didn't undermine the managers position

lets not get divided on whether he is the right man for the job or not. If the bickering over Jol and Ramos have taught us nothing, it should be that we have to get behind Redknapp now bcos he is our manager til the end of the season at least

Heartily agree. The king is dead, long live the king. Time for us all to move on, Harry has undoubtedly unearthed some great talent in his time, Joe Cole, Defoe, Rio Ferdinand, Yakubu, Carrick, Di Canio.... plus plus plus. I think Diarra is a super player at pompei, and he has defoe playing very well again. We desperately need a motivator, english speaker.... and Harry is that. First thing he has said about Spurs is that we are soft, and he will address that both now and in the transfer window.

I agree we all get behind harry, with all out hearts, get behind the team, and we will be just fine.

Goat for me = do not know if this is the best way forward. Better than the sacked regime as it could not be any worse, but I will wait and see.
the thing is, it is a step forward, in the short term, that is a step in the right direction

At least give the man a chance, half of you ensure the club don't move forward by making any new manager a dead man walking before he starts.

Nonsense. I don't think its wrong to acknowledge that right now its what we need but in the future he probably won't be able to get us past, say 7th or 8th, in the table.

The Club is delighted to announce that it has appointed Harry Redknapp as Manager.
A full announcement and statement from the Chairman, Daniel Levy, will follow shortly.

which is probably exactly what we need right now. We need a short term fix. If he stays for 2-3 yrs and retires at least we will be expecting it and it. a 2-3 year term would provide us with some stability and if he parted amicably or retired we could plan for this and get another manager in without it being a case of yet another tottenham manager fired

its thinking like that that got us into this mess. we were thinking about the champions league when we should have been thinking about owning 5th place and continuing to prgress, and allow the natural progression to top 4

Thank God for 'Arry!

This is amazing news and is the fate of my beloved Spurs has now been sorted by divine intervention.....from up above! Today is my RUBY wedding anniversary (40 years!) and 'Arry REDnapp has become the new Spurs Manager........is this a sign or what?

As a lifelong Spurs fan for 50 years, I used to watch Danny Blanchflower knock the penalties in and watched in awe as the likes of Johnny White, Dave Mackay and Jimmy Greaves took teams apart and I have suffered like all of you as we have gone from bad to worse over the years. I also thought Hoddle walked on water and was sad to see him go, but 'Arry is a great move. We have turned the corner boys, just watch. The Glory years are coming back!

COYS!
