Eek

I am literally agog at this opinion, and I'm not someone who's completely convinced by Huddlestone!

Eek, just Eek

Agree. Can't believe people who think KPB played a good game on saturday, he just took a shot every time he had the ball even he had a lot of better options. Seems like all he want to do when he plays is to show himself and always set himself first and show what he can do, and then the team come second. If you're going to do that, you must be as good as Cristiano Ronaldo. Stupid, irritating type of player.

Was pretty good against Everton tough, and might be good player one day, but I'll take Thudd before him anyday.

i agree Eek

He was voted young player of the year in Das Bundesliga, and Seville wanted him as well but we offered more and he came to us.

He never got chance at Spurs whether it was because of his attitude, his ability or w/e. But Huddlestone has been given the chance and he has hardly taken it imo.

If the shoe was on the other foot, Huddlestone was in Germany, a young guy not playing in a foreign country, would've the Hudd succeeded? I doubt it.

But Boateng has got pedigree and an engine. If Huddlestone leaves Spurs it wont be to a team above us, it would be to a Wolves, Pompey type team.

Thus, not much in it imo

His best game was against Pompey away in 07

15-Dec-07 FA Prem 20,520 A Portsmouth W 1 - 0 Berbatov

Pompey won the FA Cup that season and had a very strong team with Diarra in the middle.

MOTM performance. Him and Jenas were immense that game.

That sums it up for me, and the fact that pretty much none of his team mates came over to celebrate with him tells you what they think of the way he played on saturday.

Don't care who decided to sell him, it was the right choice.:hello:

Player gets sold, looks a bit tasty and all of a sudden it's "I really fancied him but the chairman sold him on the quiet when I wasn't looking" ?

Do me a favour.

Agreed, smacks of Bullshit.

Harry will have seen him in training every day. Obviously it was a great deal for us.. £4m for Boateng, £2m for Kranjcar...

I know who I'd rather have!

It's interesting to see how Pompey have somewhat built their midfield around KPB. Something it would be hard for us to imagine. But seeing him play, it's clear that he's now in the right place for him. He's got talent but no discipline. He can learn that, and he'll probably become a very good PL player. But I think it was best for both us and him that he went off, so no regrets.

Let's put it in perspective. Jol didn't want him in the first team, Ramos didn't want him in the first team, Harry didn't want him in the first team. When he did come in the first team he wasn't anything special, a lot of the times he was skinned and for someone who said he is more of an attacking player he didn't show any of that.

He only looks good as he's surrounded by mediocre players, he was dreadful against Spurs in the first half and slightly better in the second

I'm glad we got rid

He is a good player but we have much better players in his position so itwas a good deal.

no denying he has talent but is a bit hit and miss

Is the correct answer.

Let alone the midfielders available in the first team squad, from what I have seen of KPB and the following players, I would sooner have Taraabt and/or Parrett in the team than I would Boateng. Simply one of the most "meh" players I have ever seen at Spurs and, aside from Gilberto, I think he was Damien Comolli's worst signing for us. Will never make it as a regular for a team that plays in the top half of the Premiership, or a club of an equivalent standard, IMO.

A bit of 'Arryology, methinks.
The truth is KPB was not, is not and never will be a defensive midfielder, so could folk please stop rating him on his woeful performances as one. He has stated clearly that he can't tackle to save his life. He can only be judged fairly, as a footballer, on performances as an offensive midfielder - so I don't really think any of us as supporters can make much of a judgement on him as he was never relaly given a chance there. 'Arry is obviously trying to cover himself becausse, in spite of so many misguided opinions, the lad really does have ability.
I am not sure that we got a good deal at £4 million (unless it was a sweetner, along with O'Hara, for the Kranks deal to follow), I believe, if my memory serves me correctly, we paid £5 million for him, so a loss of £1 million for a clearly talented player isn't necessarily good business.
Where I do think there is firm ground is in saying that he clearly had some 'issues' and that aint good for anyone (least of all himself) so it was probably to everyones benefit that he tried pastures new for a while.
Personally, I would be happy if Dan Levy had a buy-back clause inserted.

I wouldn't mind if KPB follows the usual route and comes back to us at half price or less cos Pompey haven't coughed up.
I wouldn't mind him for our squad but he wouldn't be in my starting 11 propably not even for a CC game. I think he has the potential to be a hell of a lot better than many midfielders we've had in recent years.
i don't think Mr redknapp is saying this to be kind, he let some good quotes go re Nugent who he clearly doesn't rate but i'm too tired and lazy to dig them up for you now.

Nah, you know my thoughts. I can only keep saying that I've seen more of him than most, if not all, on here. At every level bar the Spurs first team he has excelled. Now, that may mean he's not up to the Spurs first team but it doesn't merit the outrageous slating he gets on here.

His attitude on signing ("I don't expect more than five games this season and I want to learn") and when injured has been excellent. Dortmund announced they really wanted him but couldn't afford the money. They were very upset by this.

And finally, actions speak louder than words. So, let's analyse the actions of Portsmouth FC this summer. Skint, broke, bankrupt and with not a two pennies to rub together. They loaned, borrowed, begged and stole players. But even in this environment they considered one player worthy of actually spending money on. If he was as crap as is conventional wisdom on here a wise man like Paul Hart (who, frankly, knows more about Youth Football than any of us) wouldn't have considered him for a second.

He probably played a more action packed game against us on Saturday than Hudd could ever play against anyone.

It begs the question how we didn't manage to get that from him when at Spurs?

Also, clearly twice the ability of O' Hara.

In this instance, I think Harry made a good move by listning to others. It obviously begs the question as to whether Levy would go ahead and sell someone without Harrys concent but it's difficult to know the facts based on what Redknapp tells the papers. personally, I think it's just Harry covering himself in the media in case Boateng comes good or we run out of CMs. I think Harry is a great manager but his media work is almost all about putting himself in a good light.

Spot on mate:clap: CYA
