That BBC interview with Adeboyor was very interesting, he said he was supposed to being signing for us.

The way he put it suggested he was about to sign for us before Madrid come in for him, and understanably he had to take the chance to play for Real when presented with it.

Its another example of how and why we may have been holding off on pulling the trigger for someone like Suarez thinking we were about to sign someone like him or indeed Fabiano (and Carroll before Liverpool ramped up the price) and basically ended up falling with the main targets we had, losing out on our back up plans only to end up making desperate looking long shots in the spanish market on the final day.

I can understand why we thought we had to make the right signing, if Adeboyor had come it would have been right to not instantly sign suarez its only because we ended up empty handed and with the benefit of hindsight that we can see the lack of decisive action cost us badly.
