Well what is doing it right? Being held to ransom by a corporation? Basically being at Tottenham is being held in a dead end job with no benefits. Look what Modric has gone on to achieve since leaving Spurs, even Kyle Walker. When they end their careers they will be happy they didn't stay at Tottenham.
Dead end job with no benefits? I’m out.

At the end of the day the majority of players want to win trophies I cried when Sheringham and left to go to Man United I hated him but over time I understood look all the trophies he won the same with Berbatov. Its just a job and people have to do what's best for them.

Yes, if you want to look at it in a purely binary way. However, many people work along the lines that they do the best for themselves but also value their customers. What Kane is doing is the equivalent of ripping off loyal customers purely to satisfy his own aims. Much as I hope his efforts fall flat on their face, I don't want him around any more after such a disrespectful display. Only people who honour the shirt deserve to wear it.

Who cares about how much money they are making, football players make billions for The Corporation and they're getting paid accordingly. i understand a lot of fans care about how much players are getting paid but they getting paid their worth.

End of the day majority of footballers want to win trophies simple and like Kane has said multiple times he wants to win silverware. Sol Campbell left and has won trophies Bale left and has won trophies modric left and has won trophies staying at Tottenham right now won't achieve that, shit even eriksen's won a trophy.

We care. The fans here expressing our opinions. That is the point of all of this. That is what this forum is. That is what the crowd at football matches is. You can have a room specifically built for all the trophies and medals you win in your career but as soon as you step into the real world when you retire you’ll be made fully aware of how you were viewed by those who helped support you along the way.

Yeah, being forced to sign a very lucrative, six year contract by that big evil corporation Tottenham Hotspur!
Who then do something as terrible as expecting him to honour it? Or at least, get the sort of money we all think he's worth.

Blimey.

Don't get me wrong express your feelings by all means but people have to be realistic do you think Jeff bezos is caring what the "fans" think when he's flying into space.

Footballers and fans in two different real worlds unfortunately and sometimes people need to realise it is what it is sometimes.

Your taking like he has not made Tottenham no money since signing his lucrative contract, I would not be surprised if the majority of Spurs shirts bought had Kane on the back especially at the prices Tottenham Hotspur are selling football kits at, I now need a loan to get the full kit with a name on the back.

Jeff Bezos is not a footballer. He does not have fans in the same way as footballers do. There is not the same adulation. Really, I’m done with this. You’re the one on a different planet here. This conversation is madness.

It's probably Son 7 that sells the most shirts but that's beside the point. The club make very little money from shirt sales.

We've also invested a hell of a lot of time and effort in Kane, it goes both ways.

add Trippier to the list.

The club exists to make money first and trophies 2nd which is not how Arse, pool, united, leicester are run. Until the owners change that mindset, the same will continue to happen with other players.

Spurs are effectively a glorified training centre where employees come to learn skills and go to a proper place of employment afterwards to achieve there career goals.

For those interested in reading the original Carragher´s original comment in the Telegraph:

I found it a good read as Carragher takes into account the fans´ perspective and discusses the "legacy" of a career if you want. Some quotes:

"I’m not saying Harry Kane should stay at Spurs. I know it’s about the here and now and winning trophies. I get he wants to win the Premier League, win the Champions League. I have no problem with him wanting to go to City. But it’s the way he’s going about trying to get that transfer by not turning up to training that is worrying. My message to Harry (...): don’t ruin your reputation for this; always think about your name and standing in the game. For me, that is as important as any trophy Harry could win."

"Being a local player like Kane means you are judged to a different standard by your club’s supporters. (...) I just think you have to conduct yourself differently as a local player. You are held to a higher standard."

"I think most realistic Tottenham fans can understand why he wants to go but you risk turning the situation completely against you by not turning up for training when you have a six-year contract."

"Former Liverpool defender turned Sky Sports pundit, Jamie Carragher, has warned Harry Kane that he could lose his reputation"

"Could"?

When you add up all the ploys of the Kane Gang it is evident that they believe that their antics will force Levy to sell below his true value to city. Even to the point that he will miss the city game at the Lane denying the opportunity for the supporters to vent their anger at his betrayal.
I remember being at the man u game when Sheringham left. It was so toxic and he had a mare. Even missing a pen. I was right behind Fergie in the west stand and we were all laughing at Fergie telling him to take him off. To be fair Fergie turned round to us and said I cannot let you have that pleasure.

I had no expectations that modric would hang around too long. We were always going to be a stepping stone for him, and spurs meant nothing much to him. I suspect the obscure club he truly loves has fans that sing of killing communists and minorities.

Walker of course loves sheffield utd. Their fans also sing of killing communists and minorities. He's done well for himself but his club have won nothing.

They were both just passing through. They were here for the money and raising their profile.
Whereas kane is one of our own. He rode that chant into the 1st team, then to being one of the top strikers in europe. A very wealthy man. And a man who now thinks he is bigger than the club.

And we have only one the same "Micky mouse" cup once since unless you want to count Audi cups? He's won 2 premier league trophies and 4 FA cups. He's happy.

Yes, if there is one word you would use when describing Sol Campbell it is definitely "happy". The man seems so joyous and full of happiness, it's absolutely intoxicating.

We can accept that to a point. But there’s still decisions to be made about how you do this. Campbell got it wrong in our eyes. Kane is getting it wrong. Modric was getting it wrong and somewhat redeemed himself.

Campbell was/is still the worst. Kane's possible transfer to Citeh is not even close to that (IMO).
