Tottenham striker Harry Kane should think twice before joining a Premier League rival with even Manchester United "not a step up" from Spurs, says Steve Archibald.

Just because they finish above us this year, doesn't mean they will next year, especially if we keep hold of our best players.

In the same way Man U didn't sell Pogba, Marital or Rashford when they failed to qualify for the CL. If they can keep their best players, why can't we?
So just Kane?

The rest of them are shite mate.

If Kane leaves it should be to a club as good as guaranteed for the top honours. Man City, PSG, Bayern or an elite Spanish side. Man Utd just aren't guaranteed to be at the top anymore.

It is a step up, but leaving for them with Ole as manager would be utter madness. He's not leading them to the League title or CL glory any time soon.

No, but it's not the end of the world. It happens and life goes on.

I think you are right In most cases the collective is much more important than any individual. However given the unique contribution Kane has been making particularly this year, I think I would want a written guarantee that Pep was lined up to manage us with a bottomless budget to work with, before countenancing Kane's sale...
And obviously in that rather unlikely scenario, why would Harry go?

United’s not the Mamchester club we have to worry about. If City fail to get Haaland, they’ll be in for Kane.

He is way too smart to join a team managed by Ole.

What, like one sitting second in the league, which only recently wiped the floor with us?
I think it's time to realise that some of the managers we've had a giggle about in the past, are actually quite good and just needed that perfect blend of environment and time to thrive - Ole, Rodgers, MOYES.

Let's end this embarassing notion that we are somehow entitled to be perceived better than other teams who were traditionally below us. West Ham and Leicester have had a tremendous season for example and deserve all the credit they get.

As does Ole. The progress he's made with United this season is simply astounding. We smashed them 6-1 in October (we were ten places apart in our favour) and didn't get near them in April (with Utd close to 20 points ahead of us).

The League Cup is a fantastic piece of silverware for us.
The Europa League isn't beneath us by any stretch of the imagination.
I mean who the hell are Tottenham to be saying such things. We have got one trophy in the last 20 years+ and yet we dare say that Kane shouldn't play for this or that manager?

This cup final has been a real eye-opener for me - Kane did fuck all in this final, and the CL final, and the previous League Cup final under Poch. And yet this has turned into the "poor Kane who deserves better" story. HOW THE F... DOES HE DESERVE BETTER? He has had more opportunity to win trophies with us than most porfessional footballers do in their entire careers. And he failed time and again.
I've just had it up to here with the poor Kane point of view. He is just as to blame as the rest.
