Harry Kane told moving to Man United would NOT be a step up

What, like one sitting second in the league, which only recently wiped the floor with us?
I think it's time to realise that some of the managers we've had a giggle about in the past, are actually quite good and just needed that perfect blend of environment and time to thrive - Ole, Rodgers, MOYES.

Let's end this embarassing notion that we are somehow entitled to be perceived better than other teams who were traditionally below us. West Ham and Leicester have had a tremendous season for example and deserve all the credit they get.

As does Ole. The progress he's made with United this season is simply astounding. We smashed them 6-1 in October (we were ten places apart in our favour) and didn't get near them in April (with Utd close to 20 points ahead of us).

The League Cup is a fantastic piece of silverware for us.
The Europa League isn't beneath us by any stretch of the imagination.
I mean who the hell are Tottenham to be saying such things. We have got one trophy in the last 20 years+ and yet we dare say that Kane shouldn't play for this or that manager?

This cup final has been a real eye-opener for me - Kane did fuck all in this final, and the CL final, and the previous League Cup final under Poch. And yet this has turned into the "poor Kane who deserves better" story. HOW THE F... DOES HE DESERVE BETTER? He has had more opportunity to win trophies with us than most porfessional footballers do in their entire careers. And he failed time and again.
I've just had it up to here with the poor Kane point of view. He is just as to blame as the rest.
Smart enough as in that he like many others know that Ole most likely won''t win the league or CL with United. An that's what he is aiming for.

You could argue that they've improved, but especially going forward it's overall far from impressive what United are doing. Especially compared to the real elite teams.

United’s not the Mamchester club we have to worry about. If City fail to get Haaland, they’ll be in for Kane.

Still can't see it. Not this summer at least. They would have to at least double their transfer record for Levy to even pick up the phone.

Agree that he's likely not interested in Utd though.

As Simon Jordan keeps saying, it's all well and good saying he wants to leave for trophies, but who is actually going to write out a cheque for ~£150m as well as increase his wages significantly?

I think you are right In most cases the collective is much more important than any individual. However given the unique contribution Kane has been making particularly this year, I think I would want a written guarantee that Pep was lined up to manage us with a bottomless budget to work with, before countenancing Kane's sale...
And obviously in that rather unlikely scenario, why would Harry go?
Harry Kane is a phenomenal footballer, no denying. As was Bale when he left. But the way people are placing him ABOVE Tottenham Hotspur Football Club is ridiculous.
If he goes he goes.

Sooner him than us in all fairness

Possibly, but if he leaves us he wants to win league titles and the CL. And a player of his calibre deserves to win big trophies to be fair.

I'm not saying that Ole is a terrible manager, but I certainly wouldn't trust him winning the league anytime soon. Not to mention the CL.

Where do you think we would be without his goals? Do you think we would be in those finals still or anywhere near champions league places in recent years?

So when we win it's down to Harry - amazingly it seems he has not only scored but created and assisted every one of his own goals as well.
But when we lose, he's still the spotless messiah and it's all the other yokels around him who are to blame.

Gottcha!

They will finish above us next year.

Why do you bother supporting Spurs if this is your attitude? Total defeatist, inferiority complex rubbish. Get the right manager in, keep our best players and there is absolutely no reason why Spurs cannot finish above Man U next year.

No, but it's not the end of the world. It happens and life goes on.

It's not the end of the world if Kane stays either, so why are you so keen to see him go? Are you scared Roy Keane's gonna get ya if you don't do what he wants?

Petrified.
I never said I wanted him gone. I just don't care either way.
And this "please let Kane stay" drama is very reminiscent of Liverpool supporters. I mean, let's maintain some dignity over this.

What a load of rubbish! I think we will win the league and all the cups next year. Why bother supporting Spurs with any other attitude.

What sort of fan doesn't care if their best player stays or goes?! Honestly, it tragic. When people talk about the DNA of the club and how it's in ours to consistently choke, can't help but look at fans like this. Doesn't happen at any other big club. Do you ever see Liverpool fans 'not caring' that their best players should leave because the club isn't worthy? Ditto Man U, City? Nope!

The sad thing is, I know there are a lot of Spurs fans who think like you and for as long as there are, the club will keep on sabotaging itself and falling at the final hurdle. THAT is this clubs DNA.

Spot on.
However, logic dictates that they probably will.

A 38-year-old husband and father of three for whom football is a weekend rebound from the pressures of everyday life, who sometimes gets entwined in the odd forum exchange like today.

Yeah its us skimming the profits, prioritising paint endorsements and joining Super Leagues, innit.
