Could definitely see Kane thinking that he could push for ballon d'or at Bayern though. Would that be bigger than the all-time PL scoring record? Quite possible he could do both with injury luck.

Benzema won it with 44 goals in 46 matches and a UCL, club world cup, la liga, and copa del rey. I could totally see Kane achieving those numbers and them having a run in UCL at some point.

I guess (again outside of fee for Spurs to accept) it comes down to what Kane values in terms of team and individual trophies and what he can win/achieve in the next 5-7 seasons.

I’d love him to stay but don’t think he will. If he stays and helps to get us in the Champions League then if he went on a free, it would still be like we sold him.

Bayern have the kind of money we are asking? Dont think he will go there anyhow. He wants the shearer record.

This kind of thinking drives me nuts.

Option A: Take £80M now.

Option B: Either get £80M in a year, or get Nothing in a year - depending on club success.

Who takes option B?

I mean, we are likely behind Man City, Man United, Liverpool and Arsenal right now. That leaves us competing for 1 spot with Newcastle and Chelsea - both with more resources, and willingness to spend said resources.

Could we get CL with Kane next season? Yes, its possible, but would you bet your house on it?

If a proper bid comes in - we would be fools to dismiss it, on the chance we might make CL next season.

All kinds of reports out that he has agreed personal terms with Bayern - but that Bayern have not (will not?) meet Levy's demands.

If those reports are true - and I don't know how reliable they are - then Levy and Ange need to have a conversation with Kane and find out where his head will be this season.

Just read about the last ten pages, how on earth do we still have people that talk about (and actually mean it) setting up a loan deal to Madrid for a couple of seasons to win something then he can come back after the loan….

Imagine that, being that much of a simp, weak club that we loan our best players out to teams so they can go and win something then return to us afterwards 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Why didn’t we sell Kane to city when they wanted him then ?
Not to drag up old stuff, BUT, city priced themselves out of Kane by purchasing Grealish first and at 100 million. Then insulted us by offering significantly less than that. For a player far better than Grealish. Despite age and contact situation.

It's one of the most ridiculous ideas the fanbase has.
Like to get all the parties to agree to this would be crazy

Might be off base here but to me, the money’s kind of irrelevant - losing one of the best players in the world that we couldn’t replace would almost certainly mean a worse season - so less prize money, less tv money, less fan interaction. Besides, I can’t believe the summer of 2013 didn’t convince our fans that selling your best player will always make your team worse.
A worse season than 8th? I don’t agree. Provided the money is used to improve other areas. we have son who argausbly is better suited to playing up top anyway and I like the idea of buying a younger player or reinvesting in a Vlahovich (sp) I’d sell if they get anywhere near to 80-90

Kane should sign a new 5 year deal with Spurs if we agree to send him to Bayern on loan for the first season. Everyone’s a winner.

If he doesn’t win a trophy there then maybe that’s on him?

I don’t see why fans care did u see bale modeic carrick berba this is what we do
It's what we used to be, it's not what we are now.
Nor is it what the fans expect us to be because a lot has changed since those days.

The big boys sell players because they want to, not because they're bullied into it.

Or get him to sign a new contract, put in clause to say if we don't get CL he can leave if a club bids 90million. That way it's clear what we want and what we would sell him for.

Bayern Munich want to sign Harry Kane, and have had a verbal offer of £60m plus add-ons rejected by Tottenham, according to Sky in Germany.

Tottenham have told Sky Sports News that no official bid has been made for Kane, and the club's stance is that any bid will be rejected.

Do first refusal options still exist? I could tolerate him going overseas if we had an option after a year or 2 to get him back.

I still think something like this is a great option.

Me, I take option B!

We paid nothing for him and have had years of value from him.

I'm willing to gamble that we have a good season and convince him to stay (I honestly believe there's a good chance of that).
We're not replacing him and his output for 80m and I'm kinda sick of selling our big stars, if we want to be a big club, we need to start acting like one.

I don't actually see it as losing anything, if he goes on a free, we've more than had our money's worth and we should not be reliant on money from our big stars to enable a rebuild, the stadium was supposed to be the game changer.

It would be losing a £80M asset for nothing.

That is what he is worth to the club - not what we paid to get him.

Ultimately we have to replace him. It won't be easy, and it won't be a similar player. We can do that with £80M, or we can do that with £0 - I know which one makes more sense.

Now - when the offers are close to £50M - then it makes sense to gamble on a bigger payday next year. But, if we got a legitimate offer - we have to consider that the club is bigger than any one player - even one of Kane's stature.

I don't share your optimism for Kane sticking around -I think he has seen enough, and wants to see what else is out there. And, if he were inclined to finish his career here - then he and Levy would have agreed to a contract extension already, instead of his brother and dad talking to Bayern.
