Not really, they just don't agree.

A lot of the older spurs (no offence to the older crew lol) have seen players just as good in our shirt.

My dad is 65, been spurs all his life and he wouldn't call Kane our greatest ever ever player.
The original poster literally said he's arguably our greatest ever player though, not that he is our greatest ever player. And that it will hurt when he leaves.

I'm not saying he is our greatest ever player, but people could easily make a good argument that he is...

Milk Bayern for everything they're worth, get him gone and let's move on. He'll be back in a couple of years anyway.
Unfortunately, I don't think you can simultaneously 'get a player gone' and 'milk them for everything'.

If Levy drags it out, it drags our incomings out too.

Make Ange's job tougher.

Are we supposed to believe that we're so skint, we have to sell our star player to be able to afford decent defenders?
Just like when we were at WHL which then begs the question, what is the point of the new stadium to the club and the fans?

A short while ago we are all buzzing after the first friendly, with dreams of what's to come.
Two weeks later and Levy has pissed all over those dreams, yet again.

Spend has increased a hell of a lot since the old WHL. That is a objective fact.

Spending more doesn't always equal more success.

We got in a new manager to rebuild, to assess the squad, to coach, to move us in a more exciting direction. None of that has changed. Nobody is "pissing on your dreams".

Bring on all your hate - but I think we will score more goals, and finish higher than 8th this season - without Kane.

Football is a team sport. I think we have become too reliant on just a few players. Without Kane to rely on - I think we will see several players step up into bigger roles this season.

We may not have a 30-goal scorer in the squad - but we will have more players involved in the build-up and in the goals.
I think exactly this.

Fans and undoubtedly the media will focus on solely on the narrative "who will replace Kane" and by extension heap undue pressure on the successor - be it Richarlison or an outside player coming in - as opposed to looking holistically at how the team will perform.

Nobody is replacing Kane of what he embodies at the club and it's utterly futile to think otherwise however we can absolutely evolve as a team and be competitive but that's under the huge, gigantic proviso of the board backing sufficiently the manager's vision and that troubles me more than Kane leaving personally.

The memories of Kane will endure and he'll be remembered with the greats of this club but we must move on and we will move on.

Regardless when this gets done, no way we get more than 1 CB in before the last week of the window. We will drag the deals out to try get better deals as always.
Money cannot be used as an excuse. We’ve literally got £80-90m coming in, and the responsibility of generating the rest through selling players Ange doesn’t want rests with Levy.

If they meet an acceptable price for Kane, then get on the phone to Wolfsburg and Leverkusen respectively and just get them done. All of the groundwork should have been completed. It’s also right before the season so no holidays and internationals to worry about as far as I’m aware.

There is no reason not to get them done within a week apart from staggering incompetence.

But haven’t a lot of the ITK’s been saying we have the money to spend though? Makes you wonder what lies Levy has been spouting about the stadium being a game changer yet it’s not changed anything 🙄
Clearly changed a lot financially lol

You aren't hated for such a sensible post. It's for other reasons. ;)

The reality is that Conte couldn't get a tune out of half our players. Just the change of scenery will boost multiple players. Sonny hopefully won't be injured so there will be a major uptick from him as the season progresses. If Kulu's issue was mental more than an injury, then he'll pick back up. Richarlson is going to miss boatloads but still scrap and fight and dive and put a bunch in. Maddison will contribute as will others. As we all know, it's our defense that needs sorting and with the pressure all the way up the pitch, they won't be called on to do as much as they were. Get that done and we're in the hunt for 4th. May not make it there but will be in the hunt. Losing Harry will hurt, but the team will not collapse.

This evening feels like it will be the biggest meltdown for spurs fans in media/online media since I can remember (even more so than Bale)

IMO all we’ve really done is regressed 10 years to the Bale summer and been deceived into being excited about it.

Which academy generational talent are we going to get to enjoy yet squander and which inspirational, Spurs-minded manager are we going to fall in love with but fail to back this time?
