About a month puts him out for 6 games with him hopefully returning for dortmund in the CL. How long is son gone for?

We could also switch to three at the back with wing backs (allowing them to get forward more) then play two of Dele, Eriksen and Lamela behind Moura. Then keep one on the bench or play Eriksen or Dele in the deeper midfield role.
The fullbacks do get forward plenty already and without Kane to convert the crosses I'm not so sure this will work. It is an option though and I would be more tempted to start Llorente in that formation. You need a number 9 for that formation to work best.

I’d honestly take a month. Back by the middle of February would be shit, but not the end of the world.

The big flaw in that plan is that it doesn't look likely that Moura is ready to come straight back in if reports are to believed.

I just find the whole thing extraordinarily unlucky. Injured right at the end (why would a player lunge like that then? Answer: he’s shit at his job. Uniteds defence can’t track runs). And the biggest concern is even if Kane recovers in decent time, will he be the same player? He took a while to rediscover his form after last years injury.

Moura isn’t fit. Son is away for a month. We have crunch games in all 4 competitions right after we’ve lost 2 out of 3 P.L. games. We are very vulnerable.

But the one thing I can’t fathom is why we never talk about Llorente? He’s played alright in the few minutes he’s played. He knows the players, and frankly we are desperate.

A month and we’ve got relatively lucky as it could have been 6 or 7 weeks.

Problem is 4 weeks always tends to turn into longer.

Also, it usually takes him a month to get back into top form after an injury. Really frustrating. Will be very unlikely to make Dortmund.

Not with Kane it doesn’t. Always ( maybe not rightly ) comes back quicker than normal.

The last two was 20 days which looked worse in my uneducated opinion than those.

Time to sit back and wait it out

Dan KP has just tweeted this. Still suggesting the club is waiting for results. 4 wouldn't be terrible, but still crappy timing. Going to need the lads to step up big time.

The fact the swelling has subsided quickly enough for a scan this morning gives me hope it'll be 4 max, but I have no idea really!

Outside chance of him being back for Leicester?

At this stage I’ll settle for him being back for Dortmund. Appalling timing, but could have been worse and Son is back for Leicester anyway.

Time for Llorente to step up ( unless we’re daft enough to let him leave).

If that's the case, it could have been much worse. It's a shame if he can't make Dortmund first leg but I reckon Poch will at least put him on the bench if it's just a month and given we just came through a gruelling Christmas period with great results, other than Wolves, and we would obviously want him for the run in it's not terrible timing.

I am not too bothered about him missing Chelsea. We can beat them without him and even if we do and then get City, it's a tough ask to beat them and it's only the league cup. Staying in the CL for next year and progressing past Dortmund are of higher priority to me than either league or FA cup.

You seem very sure we'll get past Chelsea, Kane is a threat and even seeing him in the lineup teams shit themselves, the other day on BT Sport Rudiger said that Kane is the best striker he's played against in the PL because even if he doesn't normally get many chances when he does it's normally a goal so seeing Kane not playing will give them a huge boost. That with Son away as well and Sissoko potentially injured and we suddenly look light and have no running power, I'm not too fussed about the Dortmund match as we're at home in the 1st leg and Son will be back anyway but the bannana skin is Chelsea.

No I’m not sure. I just think we can beat them but even if we do/don’t I’m not too fussed about the league cup- partly because City will be very hard and because it’s just the league cup.

For me I’m happy to remain in the CL next year and do as well as we can in it this year. Winning a domestic cup would be great and is made more difficult without Kane but honestly the main benefit to winning it would to stop wankers in the media going on about us not winning a trophy.

You can bet your house that if Chelsea turn us over in the semi, no-one in the media will give a flying fig about our huge catalogue of injuries. It'll just be another instance they can brainlessly cite of us being "legends". That's why I'm desperate to make it through, regardless of what happens against City.
