Good luck Harry. I hope you win a pile of trophies elsewhere because you'd have got fuck-all chance to win anything under the Levy/ENIC regime.

mate, its boring! he's had finals/semi finals and he hid! he's just as much to blame as levy! change the fucking tune! and im a levy outer! hes being a right ****! thats all there is to it!

I'm of the mindset that we should make his life more difficult. Not cave in.

I'd be surprised if his brand is not taking a battering.

For me, there's no debate to be had here.

Kane signed a six year deal three years ago.

The upside to this was that it guaranteed him and his family about 1 million quid a month for 6 years, no matter what. If Kane had suffered a career-ending injury at the Euros we'd have still had to pay him for another three years. VVD barely played for Liverpool this season but probably collected £10m in wages. That's football.

The downside is that he can't just fuck off whenever he wants. He gets paid handsomely to train and play for the club and, given that his is legally employed by the club, he can't leave until the club decide an offer is acceptable. Simple as that.

What he's doing is more than unprofessional. It's disrespectful to the club who gave him a chance when nobody else did. It's disrespectful to fans who supported him, at times, aggressively, through thick and thin. Oh, and it's also literally a breach of contract.

This has turned into an interesting debate.

The fact of the matter is that Harry has not turned up for training. It’s poor and unprofessional and come as a bit of a shock really.

Whilst we can look to the past and fault Levy for bad decision making which has lead to Harry wanting to leave, in this particular situation of selling him, he hasn’t done anything wrong.

Best case scenario now is that we get a fair value bid and he moves on.

Time now for the painful rebuild we’ve been waiting for.

Has anyone stopped to think that maybe Kane has already been sold and both himself and Man City have been told to keep quiet while we work on a replacement?

This to me sounds much more plausable than Kane tring to force a move knowing the backlash he would get.

Quite possible - yes. Also possible that this is being drawn out to bring fans around to the idea of selling him which would have been unthinkable not too long ago.

More likely though they are trying to weaken Levy's negotiating position before the next bid comes in. Why bother incrementally raising the bid until they hit a magic number when they can play dirty and get the club accepting that they need to sell. Put it this way - nobody on this thread was up for cashing in for "only" £130m last week

Sorry but saying this is all Levy's fault is like saying the murder of a wife, who was cheating on her husband, was her fault. Wanting to leave is one thing and for that, everyone can understand him. But going on strike as the first and only measure, before any realistic bids have been rejected or a transfer request has been entered, is absolutely disgusting.

One of our own? Not in a million years.

A note that irritates me.

Our media lap this up as a state sponsored football club laugh at the rules and look to spend over 200 million quid on 2 players.

No investigative journalism insight just idiots getting excited that the England captain is acting like a toddler.

I've got everyone covered btw, for years I wouldn't put him in my fantasy team, as whenever I did, he wouldn't score.

Guess who my first signing will be, let the curse resume.

Also thinking of all the players in our academy, who idolise Kane.

He's used as a figure of excellence by the club, someone who all academy players should strive to emulate.

And this is how he behaves?

He's fucked it big time.

For me, it's an inevitable outcome of what will transpire with Kane becoming a City player BUT we must now look to get our business done in anticipation of this rumbling on till the end of the window.

Of course I understand the 'get as much as you can for him' rhetoric but ultimately, what will ring truer is that he's only worth as much as someone is willing to pay. If hypothetically £100m+ allows us to recruit who Paratici/Nuno want then get the deal done, move on and enter a new chapter with fresh impetus and not a great big gigantic, England Captain shaped cloud over our season.
This is exactly the attitude I think the behaviour's designed to create. Make people resigned to a sale as inevitability and then agitate over its speed (accepting a lower offer is of course the speediest way to sell a player)

If he was worth over £100m 2 days ago, the clubs position has to be that he's worth more than £100m today.

I haven't once said that I agree with the way he's behaving. My whole rhetoric is that I understand why he wants out and that we should let him go. He's made enough money for ENIC over the years with his contribution towards consistent CL qualifications. No, I don't think we should let him go for peanuts but I don't think we should be holding out for £150m either.

yeah, he can just fuck off now.

hope levy bends city over so we can get some young, hungry players in who will improve us and give us a base for years to come. i get levy's fucked up royally over the last few years from a position of strength but you don't just pick up your ball and go home and cry in the corner when things get tough ffs. you get paid ridiculous money for what you do and everything is on a plate for you. to show such a lack of respect and professionalism to both the club and the fans who pay your wages is unforgiveable tbh.

I am of the opposite consensus, if he goes, I hope he never wins a trophy in his career, would be even sweeter if we pick up 1 or 2 on the way so he can think what could of been

If he’s going to city I’d say it’s almost a guarantee he’ll wind something. Unfortunately.

It is probably a good time to look at the definitions of price, value and worth because they are instrumental in this whole situation.

Price - is the actual observable exchange amount in an open market - we don't know that yet.

Value - is an estimate of the price that would be achieved if the asset were to be sold in the market - This is the actual value that Kane is in the market compared to other players and the previous prices paid for them.

Now this is the most important one here - Worth - a specific investor’s perception of the capital sum which he would be prepared to pay (or accept) for the asset. - Our perception of Harry Kane's worth to us is higher than the market value of the player. This is why it is such a hard price for Man City to get to. Their perception of worth of Kane is a lot less than ours. It underpins the whole difficulty of the situation for Man City. Levy, is a lot of things but one thing he understands is the worth of a player to the club.

Now lots of people might say it is the same for every transfer. But it isn't, this is quite a unique one because of Kane and who he is to us.
This should be pinned to the top of every transfer thread.
