And the much-maligned Serge Aurier showed up for a game two days after his brother was murdered. Yet 'Mr Tottenham' would rather sulk at home than do his job.
When we starts to string all these events together, it's all beginning to look like one rude awakening for all of us isn't it. People we used to blame, laugh at, swore at, suddenly weren't that bad afterall. Then looking at now Lamela and Toby have left, Verts and Vorm, Dembele, Eriksen, all those who put in proper shift were not with us anymore...

It's just sickening, and pure sadness, that it has to be our Harry Kane waking us up to such realisation. The worse thing is one of the best period of the club's history will forever have him involved. It will be quite a torture.

It hurts.

And yet, he has that heart to do that...

I dont understand what not turning up is supposed to achieve. Fucking go in and have a discussion - I mean it is a ****ish move. I have no doubt in my mind that Levy would also be acting like a ****.... but I would also be sure he is open to having a discussion whereas Kane is just not turning up to WORK.

This is precisely why I dont really support players per se... I support the club not players. I am not one to chant individuals names etc only really songs about the club...

I haven't once said that I agree with the way he's behaving. My whole rhetoric is that I understand why he wants out and that we should let him go. He's made enough money for ENIC over the years with his contribution towards consistent CL qualifications. No, I don't think we should let him go for peanuts but I don't think we should be holding out for £150m either.

As far as I am aware, most people aren't saying we shouldn't let him go.

What they are saying is we shouldn't let him go for less than he is worth.

We saw his main motivation on AoN - he wants to be heralded with Messi and Cristiano.

He probably doesn't care about being the greatest goalscorer for Tottenham, but the greatest for England and in the Premier League.

Players who win or are nominated for the Ballon D'or etc are, quite often not the best players, but the best players at the best clubs. He wants the X-Factor, and I don't even think it's about pay or trophies - I think he wants to be on a pedestal, and he'll likely think that he'll get that at City.

Maybe he thinks he can score even more there and break some sort of Messi-type scoring record.
I was convinced it was greed for more money doing this. But you could well be right

Why not hold out for £150m? If City dont pay that then thats on them. Spurs are not a charity.

It won’t happen at a non-financially doped club, but I would love it if Levy and Lewis took a hard stance on principal and just refused to listen to any bids for the next three years and just left him to rot in the reserves. It would be even better if Lewis injected £160M into the club to counter the ‘loss’ from not selling him. Let him miss out on PL scoring records, lose his place in the England team, miss out on the WC, miss out on the England scoring record, and even better if we win something next season and he’s watching at home. The only way back would be a grovelling apology and massive commitment to the club / team.

And this isn’t just out of spite to Kane - I’d also love it if any club did this to any player going on strike - it simply is unacceptable and is a massive insult to fans who fund the multi-millionaire lifestyle of these very lucky young men.

Also thinking of all the players in our academy, who idolise Kane.

He's used as a figure of excellence by the club, someone who all academy players should strive to emulate.

And this is how he behaves?

He's fucked it big time.
For me, the worst is all the young fans who idolise him and they see him behave like this. To me, Harry Kane is now a former club legend that has proven himself to be just like some other players before him.

With this move, he will not be welcomed back to WHL as he should have been, like the greats of Hoddle etc - now he will just face hostility and the only person to blame is himself

I do not want to hear 'Harry Kane we want you to stay' sung tomorrow. If I do I'm switching off my, er... illegal stream

Sell him, re invest the money, and let him fail to turn up in finals for another team.
Probably best to get the most for him now as his glass ankles are due to go again sometime soon.

I mentioned it a few days ago, but I don't think the financial gap is enough for it to be about that. As much as we're labelled as some tight jewish club (whether directly or subtly), we have always rewarded our best players handsomely, and Kane will no doubt be raking it in as it is.

I can only imagine it's for vanity. Pep & Co (poundland dig) will have probably tickled his golden balls about making him the greatest striker in the universe.

Because you run the risk of keeping a player who becomes extremely disgruntled and worth a lot less than he is now, plus you end up paying his salary.

Never thought he'd resort to this, will leave a massively sour taste.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt before this week as it seemed it was mostly his agent etc posturing for the move which is completely normal but to not turn up to training not once but twice and possibly not for the foreseeable that is so disrespectful to the club, his team-mates and to us fans.

Obviously we don't know the full detail of what is going on behind the scenes but either put in an official transfer request and write something nice to the fans about why etc, we'd all understand and it would put a ton of pressure on us to move him on but to miss training is petty and brattlike behaviour, he's ruining his legacy with us and whilst I get why he wants to move i don't think that going about it this way is worth it to ruin his legacy to win a few plastic trophies with a moneyball basically cheating club.

Really really poor and disappointing from Harry.

His body language towards the end of the season and the way he clapped the small number of fans at the final game of the season had a look in his eye that was saying I'm done with this now its time to move on but the way he's going about this is really so poor.

This situation is so frustrating. Not good preparation for Nuno and the team with the Man City game around the corner. Kane is acting like a self entitled beep. Lost all my respect for him. Funny how one day and one poor decision can ruin all the good memories made over the years.

How the media make us look like the villains in all this, when we are dealing with Man City is pathetic too. Can’t stand that club. Nothing honourable about them whatsoever.
