I still feel like something may be off about this.

It’s just so fucked up. Never thought he’d be such a dickhead.

Haaland is available for 75m next summer so not sure why City would get held to ransom for Kane

The 75m part ignores the fact that you have to pay Mino and his dad a significant fee which has previously been reported will be more than the transfer fee plus the fact he is supposedly going to seek over 500k a week.
Haaland is not some cheap option that some think he is.

Also no-one is holding city to ransom, we own Kane and value him at an amount so if anyone wants him they will have to meet that price otherwise sod off.

Taking the emotion out of this there is still a good deal to be done with City here.

A large sum of money & Bernado Silva would be brilliant for us.

We are desperately missing a top play maker.

Personally I think we should have got Bale back as the talisman but doesn't look likely now.

If kane doesn't want to be here and wants to go and play for the money club let him go.

He has ruined his legacy here and no one else liked him anyway.

No way City are going to stump up 160/180 million after buying Grealish lol.

Harry is coming back with his tail between his legs...big time.

And the Kanes will be upset at Spurs for not letting him go, when they should be wondering why City never put in a reasonable bid.

Then that is the price we pay for not settling this earlier as it should have done with clear communication and signposted saying - 31st July 160m if not then he is staying... and leave it at that... instead we are now in a position where we have a cloud. This happened with Bale, happened with Berbatov and happened with Modric... but really Bale and Berbatove had this logn ass cloud hanging over the club for a while.

How do you know we haven’t set that?

It's all well and good wanting him gone, but someone has to pay up. Doesn't look like City now with Grealish heading there. Unless they have a fire sale I just can't see them doing it.
City could buy anyone they wanted with unlimited funds available whether ffp applies or not. So there must be at least another £150m down the back of the City sofa to buy HK

It's a bit early to have an opinion on how much this will tarnish how fans view him but at the minute it's hard not to think that we won't view him the same way and the sort of "one of our own" relationship is gone.

Didn't Bale say at the end of last season he couldn't discuss what was happening with him next as it would cause chaos? :bag:

Shocking to see Grealish returned to Villa as usual and didn’t kick up a stink and waited patiently for his move. It really is such a kick in the teeth for Kane to disrespect Tottenham and the fans like that when he knows we will accept an offer of around 160m for him.

Interesting that Nuno and Kane haven’t even spoken yet.

Seems like, mentally at least Kane has completely checked out. It’s going to take a hell of an adjustment to get his head in the right place and perform for the club that made him and pays him £200k/week if Man City don’t pay what it will take for us to sell him

Yeah he's our best player by far, top 2 in the league and a (former) fan favourite. Losing H would obviously be a blow and we're not gonna replace him with someone that's as good as him.

However, every single trophy that's been won in the history of professional football has been won without Harry Kane in the team. We can't get stuck focusing on the void he's inevitable gonna leave behind, we need to focus on being successful by improving other aspects of the team. Sort out the defence, midfield and our style of play and we will be fine - with or without Harry Kane.

Out of interest why do you think we should sell him at a "fair price" when we don't want to sell him?
Maybe I should re-phrase.. I would take £150m given his age and the fact I think we'd be better off investing it in 3 quality players. I think we might regret not selling him at his peak value.

I personally people feel more comfortable to sell him now as there is a more positive perception on how we recruit players due to Paratici
I think people would like to see what he can do with the money.
I mean I would too

For me, evaluating a fair price would have to factor in, amongst other things, "how motivated vs reluctant are the sellers?"

The issue right now with Ings off to Villa and Lukaku potentially leaving for Chelsea (thereby making Lautaro Martinez unobtainable) is that there may be a dearth of high quality strikers available if Inter go for Vlahovic in the coming days. All reports seem to indicate that Spurs have to raise funds in order to go for Vlahovic and that isn't going to potentially happen unless Kane goes, which could still be weeks away, if at all.

It's too bad that the club didn't make a move for Andre Silva early in the window before he went to Leipzig for a very reasonable transfer fee. I'd imagine Belotti would be an option Paratici will look at with his contract running down. One name that hasn't been linked with the club that would be very interesting is Sardar Azmoun from Zenit (40 goals and 16 assists the last two seasons combined). He's been arguably the best player in the RPL the last few seasons and has been widely regarded as the #2 player in Asian football behind Sonny for a couple years. He actually is the closest thing to Kane of those potential striker options available at a reasonable fee (his contract has only one year left). He's excellent in the air, a great finisher with his right foot, a fantastic dribbler of the ball and most importantly, has the ability to drop deep and create chances for those around him like Kane showed last season with progressive forwarding passing. He apparently was off to Leverkusen as of last week, but they've seemingly pulled out of signing him. As a #2 striker, he'd be a really interesting option that I hope the club take a long look at irrespective of the Kane situation.
