I've changed my vote, I still think he's been a massive snake and has undermined our new manager, damaged squad morale and tried to cost us tens of millions. However, it seems doubtful we'd get anywhere near the money we need to replace him and he is going to be borderline impossible to replace, especially so close to the start of the season.

I think he's helped us out a bit anyway by massively undermining his own influence in the club, after this fiasco I can't imagine Levy going to him to consult on manager decisions.

I also think the idea suggested on here of a new contract with a release clause is the best way forwards for the club and Harry.

I'm sure the idea has been floated but is it possible the club (Levy and co) are behind the delayed return to training, the half arsed message to the fans etc. as they want to sell but know that their value would result in a fans revolt? I'm not talking about Levy calling Harry and saying "take an extra week off" and then acting like we had no idea but we could easily have people in his agent's ear planting seeds.

All this helps them appear to be the victims like us fans and puts them in a position where even if they sell for £100m they can justify it as necessary to keep harmony in the club and prevent a key asset losing further value.
People called this play months ago.
Levy isn’t called Teflon for no reason.

Nope. Going from one league to another is a very poor comparison.

Comparing a small sample size of players moving to clubs of different quality, when they're at different ages, is no more valid comparison statistically speaking

Unless you control for the quality of the squad and League then you don't have a statistical case

The relative strength of a team to peers is a valid comparison - not whether it's a "different League"

I made a point that a striker playing for a lower Prem team doesn't score more than when at a top 6 side.

So trying to counter that with what a player does abroad is irrelevant to what I am saying, hence Spam.
Calm yourselves ladies, it's Sunday after all!

So, Harry is a snake...

Slightly off topic but at some point we would need to buy some HG players right? Anyone decent would come with a premium attached, like we're aiming to do for Kane.

Not at all. I posted a detailed breakdown in the Paratici thread yesterday, but to summarise we really do not have to worry about signing home grown players at all.:
  • We can name 25 players in our PL squad (exc. U21s).
  • We have 23 players (over 21) in our squad currently (inc. Alfie Whiteman and CCV)
  • 17 of the 25 can be NHG. We have 14 NHG today.
  • So we have 2 spaces in our squad (3 if we sell or loan CCV), and we could sign NHG players to fill those spaces.
  • Our U21s include Sessegnon, Skipp, Gil and Scarlett. We can use as many U21s as we want.
  • Most of the players ITK suggests will be leaving are NHG (Sanchez, Aurier, Sissoko).

What’s the odds on Kane not turning up at the ground to watch the match?

Getting real bored of seeing posts from people saying they’d take x million plus x player. How many more ways can people find tow word it? ???

I've actually gone through all the signings made by the top 6 Prem sides in the last 10 years. I've listed every single number 9 I could find going from a lower Prem side to a top six side.

The only ones I could find whose goalscoring record was better was Berbatov and possibly Robbie Keane.

Naturally players leave their sides at different sides so Rooney, more than 10 years ago, scoring more for Utd throughout his prime than he did for Everton as a teen, mostly as a sub is not surprising. But then Ings scoring more for Burnley than Liverpool where he was injured is also not surprising.

Stats will never be perfect but I did go through every signing in the last 10 years and statistically what I am saying is mostly true.

And yet they have Jesus who can't score goals with the amount of creativity Man City can provide but some of our fans would accept him as part of any Kane deal.
There was a religious guy shouting from a microphone standing on the raised path next to Wembley Park way yesterday with a sign "Jesus is Lord". Unsurprisingly there were no Man city fans in agreement ;)

Based purely on yesterday (clearly a lack of valuable input I know) we should get Palmer from City as part of any deal for Kane.

This. Drive him to Manchester. But Silva would never want that i am afraid

Arsenal seem to be heavily linked to him so if they have a sniff so would we. We’ve got the better stadium, training facilities, we are in Europe (we’ll kind of) plus he can play with England’s captain and one of the best strik…….oh shit wait yeah we can’t offer that last one.

Silva is a really tidy player but overrated imho

We have gaping holes to fill and where he plays is not one of them- don’t want him involved in the deal

Laporte duly sweetened by them and Jesus plus enough to buy Vlahovic or Martinez and a good RB would do me

no way Laporte has a buyer in Spain this summer
If we get Silva then it means someone's going out as we're stacked in that department. I imagine Dele will be sold or maybe Gio, but neither would generate that much money IMO.

Bold statement that bearing in mind how fickle supporters are. IF he plays again fans will sing it I’ll wager some money on it !

Tell you what mate, if you ever hear the fans sing it to him again, you can donate some money to Spurs Community, how's that?
