Nike might be the biggest brand in the world but I don't see why you'd sign with them for that fact alone. If Sketchers or whoever else was paying more money and making boots of an equivalent quality id 100% go with them personally.

In fact I'd actively encourage moving away from Nike if it was my client.
Agree. Jordan made Nike, Kane could make Sketchers

Blame lies firmly with Bayern if they don't get this over the line.
This sounds like a typical Spurs incoming transfer just in reverse. Team values their player at X, DL offers 75% of X and doesn't understand why they don't except, DL raises it to 80% of X, still rejected, DL goes another way and gets a cheaper option.

I don’t want to derail this too much but totally agree with this. As an American, everyone should look at the deal Messi struck with Adidas with this MLS move. Michael Jordan is the only person who shouldn’t move from his association with Nike.

Back on topic: I have a feeling this charade with the media from Bayern is some what known. I don’t know, this all feels far too familiar and similar to the Bale deal. I truly wouldn’t be surprised if the framework is agreed to and we magically lock in Tapsoba this weekend, and announce Harry leaving early next week. I’ve just felt in my gut that Levy has to know he cannot risk Kane going to Chelsea as the response would be arguably the worst reaction in his tenure. As much as Kane is the GOAT, Levy is a business man and I’d be shocked that he’d be willing to take on the risk of literally 0 or negative ROI from Harry (albeit, Levy’s made a ton off of Harry in the past decade).

If this is genuinely an improved offer from Bayern Munich then they've blinked, IF? Alternatively it could have been agreed on Monday.
As for his age, I've seen people mention, he's got another four years at least at the very top and then another two still at a top level so he's worth every penny.

This charade has Charlie Kane written all over it. Another Chuckles masterclass. Like the one hes just had getting Harry to leave the the biggest athletic brand in the world for Sketchers, which is about a half rung above Keds at the bottom of the ladder.
Hey hold up.. Skechers make football boots? since when?

Well done Bayern - had the chance to get the best striker in the world but thought you could bully a Premier League club, and the one run by a Mr D Levy at that. Very silly - looks like you might have screwed this up.

IF it doesn't happen - I can't wait to see the fallout/reversal from the German media.

How very Spursy Munichy:LOL:
I think we run the risk of also looking bad in hindsight for not accepting it - I think it's really hard to call how this season will play out

I can understand us for not accepting it - I can understand them not wanting to pay more for a 30 year with one year left on his contract

Finely balanced judgements

That works both ways, Bayern Munich should know then that they have to pay to get the player.

Really annoying that these Twitter-journalists who like to make out they are well sourced can’t even articulate the basics when it comes to the crunch. 100m EUR plus add ons or 100m EUR including add ons? You had one job guys

I don't think there is any "blame" if a deal does not get done.

It just means everyone had a different valuation of the player. Not the first time, nor the last.

Bayern are willing buyers at a certain price - if that is not a price Spurs are willing to accept, then it appears that all parties are willing to walk away.
Bayern know there's a willing seller and a player who would indeed come to them.

They have the financial means to facilitate this transfer.

Perhaps me saying solely to blame is hyperbolic granted but I think it's fairly clear that if this deal doesn't materialise this summer then you can safely apportion more to Bayern's camp than ours or Kane's.

Except we’re talking about the best striker in the world here not some speculative punt.

Bayern are guaranteed the lewndowski replacement they need. Just need to pay the bill

Yup.

If we keep him and he does his ACL next week we look like prize twats.

If we keep him and he scores 30+, gets us into the CL and signs a new deal we look like geniuses.

If we sell him, buy poorly with the money, Rich is rubbish and we finish 10th we look like prize twats.

If we sell him buy well with the money and push on even higher without Kane we look like geniuses.

Just don't know.

yes and no - they presumably have a value they are willing to pay, and above that value represents too much risk to them. That is going to be true of every club and every player. Just like Spurs are not to blame if they don't buy Tapsoba - because Leverkusen has set too high a price.

So, even if Bayern have the resources (they do), if the price set by Spurs is too high - then the correct action to to walk away, instead of paying more than you think the player is worth - given the balance of risk/reward.

And by more, I assume it would be substantially more, not just that its close enough.
