Keep him, I don't care about the offer, any other player could be sold, but Kane is different.

Somethings are above money, are more important. Supposedly with the new stadium we are rich and are going to get richer.

100m will make no difference for us at the moment, there is no way we will be able to improve with 100m (or whatever) and less one Harry Kane.

It's one moment where we have to make a stand.

Yes he goes on a free to (insert PL club here), that's on Kane it's his legacy and his choice, so be it.

It also sends a message to the clubs that want the next Bale or Berbatov or Modric that we won't be pushed into a decision, we won't be bullied.

Unless Kane comes out and says I want to leave and puts a transfer request in, then he stays.

He is not any other player, he is a legend of the club.

One more year of Kane please.

Oh and fuck Bayern, I want Levy to wait until Bayern have reached the fee and then tell them where to go.

I find myself agreeing and winnering every post that suggests selling Kane AND every post that says we roll the dice, keep him for another 12 months and risk losing him for free. You can only imagine that those closest to the deal are also going through similar conflicting emotions. Damned if you do, damned if you don't (especially if you're DL!). Either way, we only have a few more days of this mental torture left. (Unless of course HK doesn't leave and the "sign/won't sign new contract/he's gonna leave for free to a PL rival, isn't he ?" rollercoaster will continue daily for the next 12 months. My brain hurts. And my heart too.

If he stays and goes for nothing next year but fires us in to a champions league spot would we not get 100 mill in income anyway plus be in a stronger position to improve the playing staff as we will be playing on the elite euro competition

IOMLS is right.

It doesn't make business sense at all to sell your best player who gives you the best chance of success, for any amount of money. All those arguing that it does completely misunderstand how little £100m is to this football club.

You do not sell Harry Kane.
This is demonstrably false. Aulas took Lyon from the 2nd division to 7 Ligue 1 titles with a strategy that included every player having a price at which they would be, and were, sold.

“Strategy “ being the key word….. not just sell.
We don’t have a strategy.

how are they allowed to do this kinda shit?

It’s less a question of ‘allowed’, more a matter of ‘how can any self respecting adult, let alone a professional’ do this kind of shit?

It’s what happens what a group stays in a position of unchallenged authority for an extended period of time. It just brings out the worst in people.

It’s super lame

I know what you mean. But it’s because it’s a fine balance.

We’re talking an amount of money that, if invested wisely, could set us up well with some great young players and lay the foundation for years of success. 3x 30m players whose value trebles. Not completely out of the question.

On the other hand, arguably the worlds best striker and our best ever player. And we could blow the cash on total crap if we’re not careful.

There are good arguments on both sides and it’s marginal.

Importantly, Harry seems to be getting on with his business. For now, that’s good enough.

Appreciate the updates WLB but not going to lie I fucking hate the update.
Unless it's an earth shattering amount you don't sell one of your best ever players.
Anyway let's hope this shit show ends this week so we and particularly the club can move on

The thing with all this is people want Kane to stay, my fear is where does he go on a free?

let’s say arsenal actually are looking really good and just need a striker? Or Chelsea want him?

All the fans seem to forget Judas, he could screw us easily next year and then we also get nothing, for what? A rebuild season where we expect nothing.

Please sell to Bayern, control the outcome, we are gonna have to replace him next year anyway with no money at all.

Yep "journalism" in the loosest sense of the word. Its designed to entertain those it's aimed at and enrage those on the outside.

It's bottom feeding shite. Best ignored. Not worth anyone's time.

Of course. As I’ve posted elsewhere, our biggest problem is our seeming inability to settle on a strategy - jumping between something that resembles Aulas’ approach and the Jose/Conte fiasco.

But to say that it doesn’t make business sense to sell your best player no matter the price, as the post I replied to did, is objectively false. Regardless of our board’s failings.

Fair enough. But totally destabilising our prep for the new season for the sake of 10-20% (?) more on the fee is madness IMO.
I disagree. This isn't a statement signing, but a statement sale, and the optics are important for the club. It has to look like we're not giving him up lightly, or we'd be better off letting him go for free next year.
