Obviously salt 🧂 as always but very interesting update from @Trix (big thanks as always mate to you and the other ITK’s during this rollercoaster).

Sounds like it’s all a very complicated mess mostly because our squad is just too big so we are trying to juggle all at the same time:
•Squeezing Bayern for every penny
•Lining up 3 incomings without committing until the Kane deal is finally in place
•Trying desperately to move on a number of players because otherwise we will not be able to bring the 3 in for Kane money
Meanwhile Kane and Kate are fretting because their next baby is due and they wanted this settled so potentially could be changing their mind on it either way so we are having to manage that whilst the above is all going on

Quite the puzzle 🧩 indeed.

IF we do end up selling him and shifting on a few then very interested to how our incomings pan out to make up for Kane going.

A ST and another CB would be 2 if the obvious 3 but then I wonder if the 3rd would be another CM or ideally a RW (but we’ve unfortunately not been linked with many of them so far).

Either way surely we get some proper movement on this today especially if the media are always a little behind and they’re saying we are still locked in talks with Bayern.

Imagine if this all ends up to Harry in a “sorry Harry we tried” 🤣🤣🤣 would be so ironic.

I hope the logistics get too much and he stays but also happy we are targeting 3 players to offset him going as it would need to be minimum that many because of what a huge impact he has overall.

This is why I am really surprised by this move...Harry wont be around

you ain't keen on fati
If he was the player he was pre injury I’d take him in a heartbeat. It would be a huge buy, like if we got Pedri or Gavi now for example. I just think post injury it would be a massive massive risk as he’s not the same player. They would probably be after £40 or 50 mil as well. I could see the appeal if it was loan with option say but they need money.

A lot of pundits and fans saying we cannot turn down £100M but my biggest concern is what do we spend that money on
Yeah there aren't any especially exciting standout candidates tbh.

Players like Orban, Schurrs and Fati might turn out to be good but none of them are guaranteed hits and it could easily be another Bale "Elvis->Beatles" situation.

So did the kit man doesn't mean we should give him a playing contract.

Signing Fati would not be clever squad building, it's opportunity knocks once again.
Yeah not a fan of that deal at all. Feels like we'd be buying him based upon his youthful hype and ignoring his injury situation.

Gives me Bojan vibes.

Fati is too risky and if it goes wrong he'll be impossible to get rid of. If Kane goes we don't need another left winger.

As much as I want to remain optimistic, Bayern are clearly still confident of getting there in the end. They would definitely declare if they had moved on to a new target as they don't seem to be able to help themselves but play everything out in public.

Agree with this. Given I’m American and patient rebuilds are something we are much more accustomed to with our sports, I am not opposed to a lot of things. One thing I strongly oppose is us falling in the historical trap of opportunistic deal for a wonder kid who is associated with a club bigger than us. I feel like this deal is no different than Gio Dos Santos - a deal I was over the moon for originally. I won’t fall into that trap again.

If we are to replace Kane, it certainly can’t be for an opportunistic signing that would get bodied in the prem.

I don't know anything about Fati but surely the medical would flag the knee issues ?

If his knee is that bad we would struggle to get insurance etc?

At least its looking more unlikely that a deal can be done by Friday and so HK can't be involved in BM's weekend game. Winning a trophy on his first day of work would cause no end of abuse for us. Hopefully DL is mindful of that too.

So our top target for GK was Raya - we chose the cheaper option - Raya now off to Arsenal

Our top target for CB was Tapsoba - we chose the cheaper option - Utd now going for him after selling Maguire

Pretty depressing that our rivals are likely snapping up our top choices as secondary signings - all whilst we negotiate the sale of a key player. No key players leaving either rival.

No wonder Kane has lost faith in ENIC really.

Edit: Check my post history - I'm far from an ENIC-outer either
