I genuinely think HK didn’t expect it to get this far.

Maybe he thought another club would come in for him after making it clear he was ‘open’ to moving abroad. Maybe he thought DL would refuse every offer and that he (HK) could leave next year with his hands up, and his legacy/reputation intact after doing the ‘professional thing’ for one more season.

it’s possible that DL has called his bluff (if that’s what it was) and he now finds that he’s painted himself into a corner somewhat.

No, they really don't have the time you think they do.

Every single day that this drags on Spurs barganing position is weakened and unless Spurs are ripping up the league between now and January (lol) Kane will not sign a new deal. This means he is gone on a free next summer and Spurs will have no say in it whatsoever.

Charlie, whilst being a moron can tie his own shoes which means he is clever enough to know that as soon as the window closes at the end of this month they are in complete control and can (and will) block any deal in January because they can wait six months and then sign for whomever they want and will take a Brink's truck full of cash that should be in the clubs coughers.

There have been multiple times where a player has been running a contract down into the final six months and ended up staying in the end. Off the top of my head Mbappe, Ozil and Alexis Sanchez. I think Rooney did it too.

If he stays we get the value of him for a year, which could be worth significant amounts if the season goes well. He's not going to commit to anyone early unless it's Madrid or Man City IMO. There are no guarantees Utd, Newcastle or Chelsea will even make CL next season. As I said before a year is a long time in football.

Let's be honest here everyone's big fear is him walking to a PL club on a free, no one will be as bothered if he goes to Madrid next summer for example.

It'd be a huge risk, but personally I'd rather take it - Audere Est Facere and all that.

He definitely doesn't "love" the club like people think he does, certainly nowhere near like we all do

It's different for pros
I think You can be professional and an employee of the club, whilst still loving it. Hes a Spurs fella, and would've gone a lot sooner if he wasnt.

I think you can satisfy both schools of thought here, there should’ve been a point beyond which the deal was pulled from our side as it would be too close to the start of the season - and a genuine pull, not just a negotiating tactic to squeeze a bit more out of it.

I remember seeing ITK along those lines too.

If we’ve accepted this late then it will be interesting to see what offer was too good to turn down a day before the season starts.
The trouble is, if Kane genuinely wants to go and we genuinely want to get a particular fee for him and not get bent over a barrel, what are the choices exactly? Say 'no' and see Kane unhappy and feeling like he's stuck here? That's not going to work out well. I am sure Kane was happy that he's valued at £100m by us and didn't think we were pricing him out of a move, or we'd have heard all about that.
It feels like Tottenham have said to Kane, you can have the move you want if Bayern hit £100m. The fact that Bayern didn't snap him up probably makes Kane feel like they didn't want him as much as they claimed. Also, there is the family stuff which is an increasing issue. There is the new look spurs that plays in an exciting way and he might be enjoying. Neither of those were an issue at the start of the window.

It isn't anywhere near black and white.

I'm sure Charlie will sort it out.

Let’s say he goes and Bayern sell him to Chelsea in 2 years time, what then?
Then that's what happens. So what?

I am sick to the back teeth of random hypothetical scenarios. He either stays or he goes today or tomorrow. I just want it done one way or the other so I can get on with supporting Ange and the team.

I wonder if all this has been orchestrated between Bayern, Kane, Levy over the last 10 days...esp with Orban starting to follow THFC recently on Instagram and the odd THFC player...maybe we have done it so we could put wheels into motion.....but then maybe im talking out of my arse..

Yeah wouldn't surprise me. Early in the window the feeling was Charlie Kane was out of his depth and had promised Bayern the world and told them Kane was absolutely gagging to go to Germany, with them taking him at face value. Meanwhile Kane was open to the move but not 100% all-in like he was with City.

Still think there could be a lot of truth to that, tbh.

Is the “Kane deliberating” line just to give levy some more time to get the replacement deals sorted.
Maybe. I do wonder if it’s more pressure on Kane but could be right.
Put it this way, we better be working hard on replacements!! Esp as prices will shoot up.

I think that's a very realistic scenario. Gives us time to move, without making clear to other clubs we have the cash to spend.

It's what I would do if I were them

City have won six titles of the past ten; Bayern have won ten. City just had a pretty good year and nearly lost the title; Bayern had an awful year that saw their coach and half the board sacked and still won. Not remotely the same IMO.

Alternatively City have won five of the last six despite other sides having their best ever league seasons. It might not be the Bundesliga yet, but it's getting there.

If I was Harry I'd go Germany just for the beer.

Very much my feelings. No one dreams of going to Bayern Munich as a kid, like they always say about Real or Barca… it’s a fairly meh league where the guys who do well leave to go to bigger more challenging leagues. Bayern themselves may be a ‘great’ but the Bundesliga isn’t, and even a hatful of titles there aren’t like winning the greatest league in the world (tm). I always thought this was about setting a price for him and expecting other teams to come in. That they haven’t must be pretty fucking humbling, to be fair.
