Winks has not been the required quality we need. But he is Spurs through and through. He's been with us for 20 years! The disrespect against him, to me at least, feels terrible. Please show some respect.

He's lived our dream and was a breath of fresh air when he broke through. And yes he has been a scapegoat.

But I've seen when the going gets tough hes gone hiding/missing in games, bottling challenges, rumours of story leaks etc.

Two sides and all that.

He cannot play in a midfield two effectively to the standard we require.

He just doesn’t dominate or control games there.

He does however seem decent in a midfield three, in particular in the central role of a 3-5-2, but it would be best to move him in and get a fee and replace with somone who gives us the stability that Bentancur, Skipp and PEH provide.

We do also obviously have Sarr coming back but dodgy to rely on given what we’re aiming to do next season (rule everything basically).

I respectfully wish him to move on. For his own career. He was great, until the ankle injury. Never looked the same since, sadly.

Winks problem is that he gets bypassed in midfield too easily, there is no strength there and he invariably gives away a free kick as a result. Would like to see his stats for tackles won and fouls conceded. Additionally he more often than not gives away a pass that kills you.
It's a shame that any manager has not been able to correct these faults which has meant that he hasn't progressed.

I'd suggest that the issue @mfdm is talking about isn't so much any criticism. He never said that. It's the form that criticism takes that people take issue with. It's been at times spiteful and vitriolic and as usual, goes too far.

He should be more grateful for that than we should. He was once good, but since then he's had a sense of entitlement that isn't justified by his talent.

He might do alright at Everton provided they put someone defensive next to him. Feels like about his level.

My concern about the Everton links is that I can see Lampard trying to get Gilmour on loan instead.
Although there is talk of Conor Gallacher too and seeing as clubs can only loan 1 player per club, hopefully they go for him.

Gilmour was horrendous for Norwich, the fans absolutely hated him. he is no prem quality at all.
