I really can't understand why in the middle of a transfer window they neded to go to Madrid.
Surely whatever they needed to know about Kun/Forlan/Benzema or Lass they should have known well before the window it's not as if they played in North Korea and details of their wages aren't hard to find.

His analysis of Suarez is shocking and proves he is clueless when it comes to transfers and strikers.

Suarez is a complete striker, he can play as the main striker, he can play second striker and he can play wing-forward. Just like players like Rooney or Tevez, he is flexible and can fulfill different striker roles.

Absolutely incredible that he didn't want him because he thought he was just a second striker. Not only that, but he then mentions that he needed a Forlan or Rossi, two players who drop off just as much as Suarez, if not more.

Forlan plays deeper than Suarez by a mile ffs! For Uruguay, Forlan plays the VDV role, Cavani wider and Suarez as the main striker. This is proved by the guardian chalkboards from the World Cup.

Redknapp's judgement on Suarez is AWFUL and it will prove to be one of his most costly errors I fear.

I had a couple of reservations about Suarez, but they were to do with the diving and gamesmanship, not his ability as a striker, so I was surprised by what Harry said too. Still, he's the one whose decison counts and who gets the flak if a signing turns out to be a disaster, and unlike City we can't just go out and buy another one next window.

totally agree mate. the above in a nutshell.. cant believe people here balaming harry. its obvious he gives list to levy . nothing got to do with harry if we dont get them...levy and board should only be ones getting stick here

I think the reason why people are getting pissed off is because we're in talks with these players and it seems harry isn't giving the final yes to get them

This is because when Dzeko signed for £28mill he wasn't sure about spending that much and then he laughed and was shocked at the £24million transfer of bent

I think Harry has got a good transfer record for his signings so far and transfer has can be explained away however i think he is scared of signing a expensive dud and blamed for us not making top 4 again

because if is blamed he wont be england manager and look at him lately he is using tottenham like a politician, he has changed his reputation from a dodgy manager with tax evasion to a fashionable manager that plays good attacking football that made the champions league after getting 2 points from 8 games,

I mean he is on TV shows(excluding SSN) more than any manager in the prem, IMO he has the right players, just bad timing because of man city it is harder for him to get CL again

And it would seem that somewhere down the line not only is there the bizarre view on Saurez but it seems we have someone who thinks Llorente is too weak for the premiership yet we play Crouch.

Harry has every right to demand the players that he wants. It's just the players he demands make me think he's not the right manager for us over the long term.

Fair enough, he's been brilliant in the short-term with a squad he largely inherited and then spectacularly got the best out of. But his targets are woeful.

They are all players who have failed at Champions League clubs or never been wanted by them. The other factor for Harry is whether they did well against a team of his in a particular game or couple of games. He's old school, gut instinct sort of guy. He won't trust his scouts, he won't give a go to players they recommend, but he continues to rate player's he chose often long past their sell by dates.

He spunked £40m (plus wages) on Keane, Defoe and Crouch. Keane has departed for maybe £6m after barely playing for a season. Crouch is bottom of the Premier League scoring charts. Defoe not much better.

Pav on the other hand has the seventh best strike rate per minute played in the Premier League this season, the only six players better than him are: Berba; Hernandez; Tevez; Kalou; Carroll; and VdV.

That means that players with worse striker rates than than him include: Gyan; Nasri; Drogba; Bent; Malouda; Torres; Chamakh; Elmander; Nani; and Bale.

But Crouch plays every week while we look to ship Pav out to Sunderland. Which reminds me, Sunderland who bought Bent another striker Harry didn't buy, so didn't rate and pilloried in the media, but who Sunderland just got over £20m for.

Look at his targets: Cole (past it), Neville (past it), Keane (past it), Crouch (past it).

I'm sure there are more.

What really fucks me off about Harry though is that he doesn't want a DoF, he won't delegate, but he won't do the work himself. Instead he moans to the press all the time. That's the worst thing, whatever he feels privately can't he just keep it private?

Good post

Sounds like trouble at the mill. regardless of who's to blame, Redknapp sounds properly pissed off
