Have you ever felt more disconnected?

Apologies if already posted but its this sort of thing that makes me feel MORE connected to the club.

No waste from the club going to landfill is an achievement we should all be proud of.

What a shame Kane didn’t do this bit of PR. Could have been his Amazon team talk, plant style

“ they a little bit taller than us and a bit greener, but we’ve got soil. We fuking grow today, we fuking grow. Fuking soil, sunlight, fuking leaves, fuking water”.

In the background the weeds all cheer. ?

No I haven't. Struggling to watch the games, if I do, it's all kind of passing in front of my eyes. No shouting at the screen, or the ref.

Just going "Oh well, it is what it is" and a shrug of the shoulders.

Unrelated to the thread and I know he's got his limitations as a player sometimes but I really, really like Dier as a bloke.

Anyway, nah, don't think I've ever felt this apathetic. Have been far more excited about the cricket, tennis and golf this summer. Watching Spurs games at the moment is very much a case of "if I happen to be in", but I'm certainly not going out of my way.

Funnily enough didn’t think about this , but yes , I’ve even forgoton when some of our games are on and can’t be bothered to go to some games .. so yes I’m disconnected to the whole process at the moment , no excitement to go and watch us , which has never happened to me

Rather we won the EPL or CL that would be an achievement not worried about landfill sites.

So we shouldn't be happy or proud the club are doing this sort of thing? I get the disconnect and concern regarding footballing matters, I do, but to have a sustainably run facility through solar energy, vegetable gardens being used in the canteens and no waste whatsoever, that is a huge thing. Especially considering the concern regarding climate change, carbon emissions and all that.

Jose killed the enjoyment factor for me. Win lose or draw I used to enjoy watching our games because we'd play exciting attacking football. Since Jose we've not done that. I physically cannot stand to watch us at the moment. At the moment I watch us only if there's no cricket/rugby/golf or tennis on. Nuno looks to be (so far) a bargain basement Jose. Same tactics, same shit different day. So fucking boring. We create nothing, and we sit back with a shit defence and hope to nick something on the counter every single game. I went to the Palace game in the home end with a Palace supporting mate and I left the ground feeling jealous of Crystal fucking Palace. They attacked and had ambition. We did nothing. It's the same every week.

When we start to play like Tottenham Hotspur again, then I'll be interested. Until then... meh

The thing for me is I don't enjoy watching us at the moment, haven't for the last 18 months.

A work colleague is a Liverpool fan and he constantly tells me how much he looks forward to their games and then how much he enjoyed it afterward.

I dread the whole process of our games.

Whilst I'm having a winge, what really frustrated me on Sunday was when we were 2-0 down with 10 minutes left, Gil passed the ball to Sanchez, who then passed the ball to Dier, who passed it back to Sanchez ...... as if we were 4-0 up! Total lack of passion and belief, did my head in that!

I understand you guys don't get this match on TV there in the UK?

**I'll be watching it perfectly legally on Super Sport HD in zimbabwe.

This has probably got something to do with it. Globalisation of the market and they're far more interested in the foreign buck than the local one

**well actually i won't because I'm fucking bored of football at the moment... But I could be

I'll be watching it perfectly legally, in glorious 4k while reclined in my chair & stuffing a Domino's down my fat throat.

I'm still yet to decide whether any of that is actually enjoyable though.

Just posted this in the Nuno thread in response to my earlier post that I wouldn't be watching the Chelsea game. Feels more relevant here:

I've got to be honest, avoiding the game in the main turned out to be pretty nice.
I dropped into the match thread about twice I think, but otherwise didn't watch the game, the highlights or anything else. Saw the score on my Fantasy Football and that was about it.

Feels numb to completely disengage with Spurs like that but at the same time I got none of the frustration and disappointment either. In fact my only annoyance was that I was going to put a bet on Chelsea to win 3-0 but couldn't do it as I hate them too much to back them!

In the end we all went to a nice BBQ with friends and family and had a great time living life without football. Bit scared by just how much I enjoyed that...

No offence, but I couldn't give a fuck. Yes it's a nice thing but I wouldn't say i'm proud of it. Right now there's not much to be proud of at all and it all seems a bit straw clutching. First carbon emissions game, this, Levy's plant based wig and all the other 'nice' things.

But nothing on the pitch. It's all actually getting tiresome now. All these fuck-all things, too many of them, each are good, fine and noble things in isolation, i'm not denying it, but fucking hell. If the club started to put some of the same sort of effort into the football team, it'd be nice.

#miserable**** :D

We traded.Tottenham Hotspur Football Club for Tottenham Hotspur Financial Corporation

Honestly have never felt more blaise about watching Spurs

The thing is whilst this sort of thing is laudable, as is much of what the club does in the community, for charity etc - it's all for show.

I used to be proud of this sort of thing when we were on our way up, from when Jol was in charge we made a big change to do a lot more of this kind of non-football activity which is great PR for the club and others. But it made sense then - we were almost universally popular, we tried to play the right way, we had popular managers (Jol, Redknapp, Poch), we had an English core, we upset some of the big boys etc.

But these days? Nah, to me it doesn't count for much. I'm so cynical about the intent behind everything the club does now that I can't help but view these kinds of things through a PR lens.

I mentioned it before, but don't forget, the club referred to us - all of us - as "legacy fans". They don't care about us. They want a new generation. They want foreign fans. They want people acting like purchasing machines. We're consumers, customers, target audiences, shopping demographics. Not supporters. "Legacy fans".

Ideally in Levy's dream the football season would be a perpetual world tour like an expanded version of the NFL, with the club travelling from country to country to play Real Madrid in the ultimate Super League every other week while legions of new foreign fans buy up metric tons of club merchandise all over the world. Global brand stuff. Meanwhile back home the stadium's rented out every weekend for non-Spurs events.

One more time - they called you, me and all of us "Legacy Fans". It's almost impossible not to be a cynic after something like that.

I'm sorry but I will be happy to see my club doing what it can for the environment. You don't have to be a cynic to every single thing Levy does or does not do.

I would also be willing to bet that for anything like this, carbon neutral pronouncements, charitable donations etc., have some kind of hefty tax implications in favor of the club. I might be a bit cynical, but I just don't believe big corporations do anything like this unless there is some kind of tidy profit in it at the end of the day. Whether it's just from a tax point of view or something else, they certainly are not doing it just for the good of the planet.

This is surely gonna help soothe tensions? ENIC never fails to miss an opportunity to help itself with a fan base that couldnt be more disconnected from the club right now even if they banned supporters from entering the ground like oldham & blackpool have tried in the past.

Probably costs too much for them & provides no benefit for its nfl franchise aspirations

Not sure anyone is slagging the club off for helping the environment. It’s the notion that this makes the rest of it ok that is laughable
