SCAT1620: It's not the criticism I object to; it's the manner in which it's done, and the relish with which some people seem to take in getting the opportunity to have a dig at those who play in our club's shirt.
JERRYGARCIA: At worst "He helped us get fourth" is a cliche but it's not as bad as "Corluka/Jenas/Palacios/Cudicini is shit" which gets repeated over and over again on here.

Well said guys. Criticism for poor performance is fine but there always seems to be a lot of over the top views picking on certain individuals. I am not a great fan of some of our players (heck, we all have our favorites) but I try to get behind them all while they are with us.
Some of the excessive criticism on here is often displayed at the Lane where people spend the whole match abusing certain individuals. It gets me down, let alone the players.

We should show the players a level of loyalty. We can't piss and moan about Dimi fooking off to Man U if we don't have faith in our own.

Or something like that.

A prime example of a player who became shit overnight is robbie Keane. he scored nearly 50 goals in 2 years, moved to Liverpool and became a tosspot.

And no, its not a "bad bit of form", 2 years of shit, means he is SHIT!

Scoring as many goals as Kris Boyd doesn't count for anything.

wow....this is coming from someone that all i see you do is snivel, wine and bitch......

The guy has a point. It does get usd far too often with nothing else to back up.

What the player did last season, 2 years ago or 5 years ago is irrelevant when talking about their current form.

absolutely. Hypocrisy of the highest order to go with the habitual casual condescension

57 rarely makes a point without insulting some poster or other . Deffo the queen bitch on SC . To hear him complaining about posters snivelling and whinging is truly hilarious .

Anyway , its a difficult call when a formerly good player loses form . Personally I would go with form players more than many here . The mantra 'Got us 4th' is trotted out to defend players from last year playing poorly now. It will carry less weight as time goes by but it still has some credibility .

Last season was characterised by Harry as being one where 'people coming in did well' meaning he was forced thru injury/ACN to make changes and they worked . Changes can work for you .

I note some such as Stoof f'rinstance consider we were very lucky last season ,I'm sorta in that boat too which debases the 'Got 4th' halo a tad as well.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's noticed this, am sure many others have as well. To be fair, he doesn't snivel and whinge about any players, just any other posters who he perceives to be less intelligent or articulate than him. Which seems to be pretty much everyone. I for one am starting to find it very boring.

i see this phrase pop up in numerous threads(the whole summer long) in defense of any player who is being criticised.

we owe these players nothing
if they are not in form they should be dropped
the time is now
we cant wait for players to get better

djimi traore has a champions league winners medal.....................................and then got sold to charlton.some players are riding on the coat tails of last year but how long do they get a free pass for.............?

Fernando Torres has been crap since last season (arguably one of the reasons Liverpool failed to get CL), do you think Liverpool should sell him?

Gomes, Dawson, Bale, Huddlestone, Lennon have all been tagged with the 'not good enough' label. Should we have got rid of them?

It's all too easy to ditch a player, the harder thing to do is believe in their ability and let them come through the bad patch.

I have to agree. Last season was last season. The teams of last season will not be the same as this season, due to form or addition to playing personel. This is a new Season. A new day a new dollar. I believe Harry shold know this as well.

While I dont condone the verbal abuse of players when they are not doing well or off form, I believe the in form player should always be played. This is where healthy competition for places become more than lip service, and would make displaced players work hard at getting their places back, therefore avoiding any complences by the so called "undropables".

We'd be singing a different tune if we had been down 0-2 and had comeback to tie it up at 2 all.
