Boo
Apparently Sky Germany are saying that he is 'very likely' to be a Dortmund player next season.
Sigh.
Is this in the same way that our Sky 'understands' things to be the case and gets them completely wrong?
Why we need a DoF who can work with AVB and get these type of players in.Potentially another player Levy refuses to attempt to sign until they are out of reach... Needs to man up and take a risk for once.... Not every risk is going to be a Bentley.

The committee obviously can not hack it.
Yup, we only live in hope.Lots of talk this morning that we're getting that baldini guy from Roma. We'll see I guess.
Cheers, Snarf. Though I somehow feel as though I've stated something far too obvious for it to hold any merit

True, I also think Townsend's brilliant form maybe a factor, meaning our interest has cooled a bit. I'd still like to sign him though!!I don't think it's too surprising that he would want to go to Dortmund. He's settled in Germany, and Dortmund are CL finalists. It's quite a draw they have for them. Hard to see how we could be to blame if he goes there.

That's why I don't think Townsend's play has that much of a factor in it. I think Son is seen much more as a striker whereas Townsend is an old school winger. And I don't think that the interest has died from our end, but it was always my understanding that he was going to end up at Dortmund. It's a shame really, I think he will be a great player, but it won't be the end of the world. I'd be bothered more if he was going somewhere just for money, ala Chelsea, Man City, PSG, or now Monaco.Hopefully we will realize we need much more versatility up top. Having a guy like Son who can operate as a lone striker in a pinch as well as provide starting-caliber talent out wide is just too good to pass up.
Absolute silence on this for a few weeks now...shame.
