Tottenham have not won a trophy since 2008 but the future should be brighter with a top stadium, world-class manager Antonio Conte and the captains of England and France in their team.

He gets a lot of criticism from parts of the fanbase but he's always committed on the pitch and takes responsibility for the ball. Today was a good performance

Commitment isn't an issue, neither is his application.

He's just very ordinary. He's far from the worst of our problems but, in my uneducated opinion he could be upgraded upon.

But the likes on GLC, Ndombele & Winks should be well out of the door long before PEH.

I think that's pretty reasonable?

I disagree that he's ordinary.

He's certainly not spectacular but he does those things that we are so very lacking like taking the ball in difficult situations, making and winning tackles in the middle, at times driving the team forward.

Look, I get it. He lacks the attacking ability to be considered an all round midfielder.

But I try to remember two things 1) if he had everything he'd be at Real Madrid 2) he may not be what we want but like batman he's what we need

Why do we need Batman?

His far from the sell list but yes we need to improve our center mid and wing backs to become a better team

He's not flashy and maybe looks technically awkward but he provides us the tactical solidarity to play the two in the middle in my opinion. He's very good at occupying the defensive space, (that may sound like a tongue in cheek comment but he's very good at seeing where the gaps are in our backline or defensive phase and cutting of the passing lanes.)

There are very many skilled CMs that couldn't play the role he does in a midfield 2.

PS: I'm going to assume you've not seen Batman. One of the famous quotes is that Batman is not the hero Gotham wants but he's the hero Gotham need. He does the unappreciated dirty work that gets overlooked.
