Its getting beyond a joke lately!

Its not funny in the slightest.

2 today, 3 against Sunderland and numerous others throughout the season! It could well cost us 4th place. Alot of them have been through careless challenges and its something we need our defensive coaching staff to look at!

Ultimately it has cost us at least 1 point today and we can't afford for that.

We do have to look at addressing this problem as we can't be relying on Darren Bent taking them against us every game.

6 in our last three games away in all competitions. 5 away in the last two in the league. Really need to sort that out.

Points to us not being composed which was our main problem today. This will only come with consistency in personel and experience playing together and having the same manager, so it's all part of the development process, especially with us as we have a recent history - over the last few years - of being a nervy, erratic side.

In 2/3 years time if we can keep HR and our key players, we'll be awesome

Palacios should be chained to the centre circle with a small radius of give.

Palacios has given away a penalty in the last 3 games he has played.

Disco Benny has to stay on his feet more. He's our only defender that has looked clumsy in giving them away, Bassong was quite unlucky in my opinion, rather than careless. Wilson, as PT says, should be treated like the terrier he is and chained up in the centre circle, just short enough so he can't reach either box.

I do think Sarge was unlucky to give away the one against Man U, he was charging in and the wee red fella jinked in front of him. There was no wayhe was going to pull up in time and just clattered into the back of him. Careless but not really malicious or intentional in any way.

If my memory serves, nearly all of these penalties have come from players going to ground, perhaps we need to work on staying upright, overall positioning and covering the gaps, rather than getting stuck in against players who we know are likely to go down at the slightest sniff of a touch.

The Palacios penalty against Portsmouth in the semi final should never have been given, he clearly got the ball long before he touched the striker.

That's even worse viewing than conceded!

Defoe is starting to slip back down the route of spanking them at the keeper, in open play as well, i've noticed. He's obviously worked on his strength and works much harder to retain the ball but since his little scoring spree a few weeks back, every shot has been right down the keepers throat. He was doing it last year, hope he's not going to start doing it again.
