Apart from Lloris the other certainty at least for the first few games if he is fit is Lamela.

Because Pochettino has been raving about him more like.Because he has done a couple of good things against low level opposition?

I actually think the article is kinda poorly researched at parts. If only because it assumes Dembele is battling for a central spot behind the striker. IMO Dembele is actually competing for a place starting in the deeper positions.
Also saying Townsend has guile and versatility is a new one. I reckon it'll be (assuming we don't sign anyone new)-
LlorisI think the front 4 will be very fluid changing positions ect.
Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Davies
Capoue Bentaleb
Lamela Eriksen Lennon
Soldado
Who to play along Capoue is anyones guess but I see Bentaleb as being quick on the ball and not s defensively fragile compared to other options. Of course Schneiderlin will start alongside Capoue if we were to sign him.
Also it could be either Chadli and Lennon who starts. But I have put Lennon because of how he has been utilized this pre-season. Holtby may well also find himself starting. But not instead of Eriksen but either deeper or with (With Eriksen or Holtby playing of the left).
I'm a big fan of Eriksen, I think we all are, but I think he still needs to adapt a little to make the team work, exude a little more energy/demonstrate higher 'work rate' and bring other players into the game in a way that benefits their own individual styles.
Anyway, it's all about opinion (the West Ham one tomorrow is incredibly damming!) but pleased this one's being discussed at least.
Cheers,
Rich
I think everyone was. what I meant was that he isn't afraid to get stuck in. As is shown by his high tackle and interception rate (His tackle rate at 2.6 a game was the highest among our midfielders and joint second in the squad, while he was the 3rd highest midfielder for interceptions, behind capoue and sandro,on 1.7 a game). You're kidding right! He was bloody awful defensively on numerous occasions last season.
I think we would be stupid not to base our team around Eriksen at the moment. He really is an exceptional player. I think he does work hard and I think his build up play is actually very good. Also he deserves to start just because of what he can do in set pieces.Hi guys,
First off - really appreciating the feedback and the link to the article. The formation is more how I see it ending up, once things have settled down.
As for Holtby - I think he'll get a fair amount of game time this coming season. Poch thinks highly of him, and I've been really impressed by him in pre-season.
