I'm beginning to think Modric and Huddlestone could be a great central midfield combination

I know everyone is expected a new defensive midfielder but we currently have Modric, Huddlestone, Jenas and Zokora. I can't see Jenas or Zokora leaveing, the Hudd signed a new 5 year deal, Modric is our record signing. If we get a new DM, Jenas, Zokora or the Hudd may not even make the bench which won't happen.

I've been thinking the same mate. Most people are saying we need an enforcer in midfield, a Roy Keane type. But that type of player isn't essential these days, Arsenal dont have one, Flamini had a great engine but you wouldn't consider him a particularly tough guy and he wasnt particularly vocal either. The Hudd could well replace Carrick, his passing is marginally better he just needs to improve his positioning and tackling which will come with experience. Most of all he needs games, so although I'd like for us to sign a DM, I wouldn't be dissapionted to see the Hudd starting, maybe with Modric on the left.

Hudd is IMO as good a prospect as Lennon. Probably one of Tommys biggest fans, his passing is something special and with experience will be one of the best English midfielders in the Prem.

In between the homosexuality (and of course there's nothing wrong, yaddayaddayadda) there have been some useful and interesting commments about Hudd's bodyweight. It seems an eternal topic for debate on here so we may as well keep this open for now.
