Neither have lost a great deal of weight.

Your spectacles are befuddling you all. Huddlestone can't suddenly shrink in either direction - he's just a big lad! Not that people will accept that.

Robbo looks identical, it's just that people happily associate his weight with his form - which is ridiculous.

Playing well = looking slim. No. He's just playing well because he's a top quality International class keeper.

Stoof-
Can you merge this thread and the "It was worth the weight" thread talking about THud losing weight. I'm getting tired of checking both threads waiting for your response.

Well Stoof you've seen Robbo live lately - I haven't - but honestly he does look like he's lost weight

The Missus thought Hudd had lost weight too - but that I'm not so sure about as he's so big anyway - but I tell you what he was putting it about today - and that's what I've wanted from Hud for a long time - go out there and use that massive frame -

There's a report somewhere that quoted Ramos as saying some players have lost weight and he mentioned Hud by name.

Well fair enough chaps, I didn't overly notice it, and being of the more Huddlestone/Robbo persuasion (no, not an England footballer ) I tend to look out for the ol' weight. So fair enough - it just wasn't overly noticeable for me.

I think the point that probably runs through all of these posts: "who cares, they're playing to a standard we expect".

Hi DC, I don't know what weight Hudd has lost but there is no doubt that his fitness levels have improved.

Against Blackburn in the last game before Ramos arrived he played the last 20 minutes at virtually a standstill. The levels of fitness in the last 20 minutes of that game was there for all to see.

As for Robbo his weight loss is pretty obvious.

Robbo has clearly lost weight. I haven't paid much attention to Hudd but I saw a large photo of him in a paper the other day and he clearly has a double chin (or a 1.5 chin)! I'm glad Ramos is on the case but if he's lost some he's got a way to go.

I thought even Lennon was looking almost 'tubby' after his injury lay-off though..

My wife, who only watches the odd game now and then, saw Hudd against the Arse and said that she almost didn't recognize him, he was so much thinner. She also brought up Robbo looking slimmer without prompting. That's enough to convince me my eyes aren't deceiving me.

There were "before and after" pics of both players in one of the papers today - recent shots contrasted with this time last year. Robbo has lost at least 20 pounds since then I'd say... even his knees look so much podgier in the 2006 shot, and when you notice contrasts like that, then it's pretty undeniable.

Hudd slimmed down as well, but you'd need to be Stevie Wonder not to notice etc...

Definite change in Robbo alright, if he has lost a stone or so in the two months then thats loads of time for it to have been done gradually and should not have a negative effect on his performance level. In fact until today his performances were much improved.
