Feel sorry for the kid. Needs to lose weight or forget about ever playing in a Ramos team.

I think perhaps the beginning of the end. Sad.

Good to see Dervitte, Rose and Berchiche all in the reserves though!

I dont think its the end of him, just a clear message that he needs to get fitter. Im sure if he was up to the fitness Ramos wants from the players he would be in the squad

Huddlestone doesn't need to lose weight. He's not fat and is in shape - he's a professional footballer FFS.

He's just a built lad whose tall and broad - it's a shame a lot of our members seem to think anyone that isn't a rake is 'fat'. I'd like to see if those members also have to neck protein shakes and try in vain to put on any sort of muscle capability. Just out of interest you understand, not a sweeping generalisation. At all.

Boxers(who are generally fit) can still lose weight if they need to. If hudd tried,i think could lose a stone.

But if you look at his body shape, it's not of fat. It's just a big body. You can't change the shape of it! He's a big lad. The reasons for his mobility are not due to fat. There's just a lot of him in non-fat terms!

I agree, but looking at him,I still think he could lose a stone of muscle/fat(whatever it is).

Stoof is absolutely right, in the modern game it would be impossible to be fat, unless he runs home and beats a bargain bucket into him morning noon and night.

I seriously doubt it would even be healthy for him to lose a stone, it wouldn't be natural.

Also look at loadza top sprinters, then are huge, in terms of muscle, you dont tell them to lose weight/muscle to go faster do you?

Don't forget that boxers will frequently do all sorts of stuff to make the weight at the weigh-in and then promptly woof five T-bone steaks and a vat of pasta.

Running to and from Derby, 3 times a day , on a KFC bucket lunch? That would explain the size of him.

He has the wrong physique.

I bet in a few months time you will see a more gangly Hudd.

We have a WORLD FAMOUS (outside of football even) fitness coach. And he knows you can not function with that amount of mass on the football field.

He needs to be more Viera/Gerrard than Lomu.
I feel sorry for him because losing his kind of weight and turning packed muscle into a wiry frame is really hard and involves a crazy amount of cardio and a complex diet.

I'm sorry, sir, your body is wrong. Thanks though.

:| Right. Tell that to Jan Molby.

It's the boy's body shape, mate. He's not fat! You can't tell him to suddenly "un-broaden" his shoulders. He has a wide frame due to his skeleton. Not due to the too many 'Andy Reids'.

ridiculous. his frame is much bigger than theirs and it doesn't influence his ability as a footballer. What does however is that he is not good enough at the moment.

I think the really big and great news is that Dervitte is back - he could be the CB we're desperate for. Of course having had such a terrible injury,it would be wrong to put pressure on the lad. But there's a place for him in the first team squad ready and waiting. Pekhart and Rose must be getting closer too.

This ressie squad is really good news on the whole.

I suppose that's what Robbo, Andy Reid and Mido have been doing at training then. Don't forget all the pies too.

The problem with THudd is his lack of mobility rather than fitness or fat issues. He has too much bulk on top so its more likely that he need to lose some on top and gain some below. More muscle bulk on the legs to give him the strength for greater speed and movement.

Have you seen how broad Gerrard and Vierra are?

Hud is HUGE for a football player. No ifs or (fat) butts about it.

I don't think there's a problem with his size, more his attitude. Anyway I don't believe he or routledge have been dropped. I suspect Ramos wants to get a look at them in a competitive game.

One problem with Huddlestone is perhaps he's rested on his laurals a bit when he became a semi-permanent first teamer. I don't think he tries particularly hard
