The boy just needs a bit more energy and fitness training. He's not fat, that's obvious, but he needs to be able to carry that weight about with him for 90 minutes, and like he said about Jol's remarks - he needs to use his frame to his advantage.

IMO, if Hud got as fit he could possibly be, gained a yard or two and had a bit more stamina he'd be immense. Could you imagine him hairing around the midfield snapping at ankles, winning the ball and then be on his toes running straight through the opposition whilst smashing them with huge elbows and knees? Cwworrrrrrrr.

Where are McKenna and Mills? Two of our reserve regulars and haven't been seen in any squad for a few games.

Possible that players are being left out ahead of a January cull, but I would be suprised. No Maghoma or Riley either tonight.

Good to see Jamie Davis and Joe Martin back, in addition to Dervitte.

Who remembers when Baptista went to Arsenal?Wenger wouldn't let him step on to the pitch because he was a couple Kilos oveweight.Would you say Baptista is fat compared to Huddlestone?. Hudd CAN lose weight. It IS possible.

Weight wise he is much heavier than King, without doubt. He stands about the same height as Kaboul but I would say he is easily a couple of stone heavier.

ok assuming i understand what "much" heavier is. I don't think it's hard to undersatnd what i mean.. King is faster than some of the smallest speed demons in the footballing world, ones he give 3 stone away to let alone Huddlestone and my underlying point remains valid. Weight and bulk is not Hud's key reason for being slow. Physically far more vadlid rewasons are. lengthe of tendon, liagments. muscle length in relation bone length, bone desity, musle and bone elasticity , circulation effciency, foot arch etc etc...all things a long run in the swimming pool in cocoon wouldn't improve.

He's just a built lad whose tall and broad - it's a shame a lot of our members seem to think anyone that isn't a rake is 'fat'. I'd like to see if those members also have to neck protein shakes and try in vain to put on any sort of muscle capability. Just out of interest you understand, not a sweeping generalisation. At all.

But stoof, you are fat.

He's not fat, just very slow. It's to do with his muscle make up, not enough fast twitch fibres.

Nothing will stop him looking like a tanker turning.

No, they would have gone off injured, like Hargreaves and Carrick have attempted to do all season.

So fit teams have 0 injuries. You have to do better than that.

HUD IS RELATIVELY FAT. Sorry but he is. It may be some baby fat still on him but his face is rounder than a binging Gazza.

You don't understand the concept of fat. You're just wrong.

"Relatively fat" - that doesn't make any sense. He's "bigger" but not fatter. There's a fucking difference - that's pretty obvious to every other poster in this thread.

We're arguing the same thing - he's not mobile enough.

But that's not because he's fat because he simply isn't.

There are several reasons why the hudd has not been playing well (for some time) and why he has been dropped (on numerous occasions), the main one being that he is simply not as good as we like to think he is. Apart from his obvious lack of mobility, ability to header, tackle or close down he is not brave enough when in possession of the ball. He doesn't make things happen.

Although it is fair to say that the team is not moving well and helping to create angles and passing opportunities it is a 2 way street. He needs to prompt and probe and make players move for him, that is what good players are able to do.

I think that it is the end for him, unless he drastically improves his use of the ball. He is never going to be mobile, not just because he is big, there are loads of athletes that are as big or bigger than him who are far more mobile, Papa Diop for example, Hudd is just not designed to be quick.

I do agree that he could be quicker than he is and this could be done by working on his running style. He could also work on the way he moves the ball by looking for more give and go's and by using his first touch better. It is not that I don't think he can develop into a good player I am just not sure that he will be able to do it at Spurs or if he will be able to develop enough to compensate for his weaknesses.

i read the first few pots, seen gibbs posting so skipped the rest for my own sanity  if all thsi has been said before then sorry

dont think it is the end of Hudd, probably good for him to drop down to the reserves now and then when not in the first team squads, keeps him on the pitc and in match shape, and hopefully will get him fitter and help get him moving round the pitch more (not that he is fat, he is just a fucking huge guy and reactions are not as sharp as most others, untill it comes to spoting a pass anyway)

Having been chuffed to see Berchice promoted to the reserve squad, it strikes me as unlikely it's true seeing as he played on Saturday for the U18s against Cardiff..??

Very keen to see how Rose and Dervitte get on. Whilst the time has never been better for Dorian to get a shot at the first team, another youngun is the last thing we need.

No prob.

I just have a feeling that in a few months time we are going to see some cheekbones.

Hudd maybe be big but he's as athletic and graceful as Berba. I think that during the "old regime" a lot of our young players may have lost their way due to lack of good training. In good time i'm sure we will begin to see why these players were so highly rated when we bought them.

Basically, in many other leagues it is quite normal to use players that are not playing every week with the reserves, to (1) keep them matchfit, and (2) see them play matches. It might just be that Ramos is that kind of manager.

Besides, it is rather understandably if he'll use the reserves to watch the players he doesnt select for in his team play, since he doesnt know them that well.

However, I'll agree that its a bit more strange with the Hudd than with Routledge, since the former has played a lot of games this and the last season. With Routledge Ramos must wonder how bad he can possibly be, since he rarely plays despite the fact we've got only one other real winger.....
