The new boys have certainly been busy last few days - Henrik Pederson has left the club with one year on his contract, due to family matters. He'll return to Denmark and play for his local side, Silkeborg or something.

Aside from that, have they pulled off the first real "newby" coup of the transfer window? Geovanni snapped up on a free, after being released by Citeh after just a year, and now they're tidying up contracts with George Boateng, from Boro it seems.

Usually we see new teams coming in, spend a couple of hundred thousand on some promising talent from the champs, then batten down the hatches and brace themselves for the onslaught, fingers crossed they can come out next summer, having survived the winter. Hull don't appear to have any intention of hiding away and hoping they can weather the storm though.

So, I have Hull down as a sneaky, cheeky surprise package if they carry on like this - these signings aren't superstars or anything, granted, but one promising talent for nothing, one experienced and solid player for what can't be more than a couple of mil. Good business.

Think Boateng is a good signing, experienced and was a good player. Geovanni seemed decent at stages during his time at Citeh. Would be good to see Hull do well

Just up the road from me and my boss is a ST holder. I'll keep an eye on their progress but even the hardened Tiger reckons it's going to be tough.

They've also got Fagan in permanently too to they are stating intent by getting their squad sorted early.

In contrast, Stoke City are struggling to recruit, although there's talk of our fifteenth choice ex-keeper Marton Fulop going to Stoke from Sunderland.

Stoke were always going to have troubles recruiting, they're barely even a town

Their best bet would be to recruit young talent, and get as many loans in as they can.
