I'm clearly bored and have too much time on my hands so please humour me...Which of the following teams, all things being equal, would come out on top?

Team A

Gomes
Corluka Woodgate Gallas Bale
Bentley Huddlestone Palacios Modric
Crouch Pav

vs

Team B

Cudicini
Kaboul King Dawson Ekotto
Lennon Sandro Jenas Krancjar
Van der Vaart
Defoe

Team B for me.

But both to me are pretty strong lineups, if I saw either of those on the teamsheet for a match I wouldn't be too worried. Great sign of how strong our squad is.

oooohh thats a tough one.

Team A: Excellent defence with one attacking fullback and then a more defensive one on the right. Both Gallas and Woodgate are great in the air. The midfield is solid in the centre with a holder (Thudd) and a presser (Palacios). We have a winger in the form of Bentley on the right and then a playmaker (Modric) on the left who cuts in. The left side is extremely strong with Bale overlapping Modric. Negatives: The right side is too slow and completely bereft of pace with Corluka and Bentley. The only real pace in the side comes from Bale. Also a major negative is Crouch and Pav's inability to link up with one another.

Team B: Solid Defence, and in my opinion the stronger. Kaboul has been excellent when played at RB - strong, powerful and pacey with a great cross. He has also linked up well with Lennon when played there. Dawson and King are arguably our first choice CB pairing. Strong, quick, good headers, excellent reading of the game etc. Ekotto is also our best LB when it comes to the balance between attacking intent and defending. The midfield is also very strong. You have a winger, a holding midfielder in Sandro (although we havnt really seen what he is capable of it is clear he has the potential to be a star) and a box-to-box busy body in Jenas. We then have a playmaker on the left in Kranjcar. This is arguably his best position and he will cut in much like Modric and link up with VDV. Kranjcar, VDV and Lennon would create a shed load of chances and we all know Defoe is capable of scoring a shed load when its placed on a plate for him.

Overall my verdict is that both teams' defence is pretty evenly matched. Team B, however, has a better balance between creativity and graft and would create more chances than Team A through Kranjcar, VDV, Jenas and Lennon. Defoe is the best striker from the 3 and with that sort of creativity behind him he will score loads.

Team B wins.

Great analysis . It'd certainly be tight.
