The dust has officially settled now... and I cannot wait to be at White Hart Lane in 5 days time for, without doubt, the biggest game I'll have ever been to :-D

I am seriously convinced it's not over yet. The first 15 minutes are everything. Get an early one, and they'll worry. It's simple psychology - they know that for the unthinkable to happen, we'll need to score early - and if we do, it will put doubts in their mind.

It's a million to one... but if Harry gets it right... If José doesn't... if both the players, and just as importantly the fans are up for it... and we score that early goal... you never know. You never fucking know :)

Having booked the day off work, I'll be up by 9am for a morning Fosters, playing some Ossie's Dream, and I'll be doing it with a smile on my face - all the way to London.

Somehow, for reasons I can barely explain, I still believe :hump:

I got a good feeling too. I think we need at least 2 goals in the first 15 to worry them seriously but we are talking about Real Madrid so our defence better be right on top of their game or any goal we do get can quickly be wiped out by them!

You two are probably my favourite people in the World right now :) I expected one of the first 2 responses to be someone asking to 'have some of what I've been smoking', and the other to have been a blunt 'no chance' sort of response.

<3

Edit: and SDU! My faith in Spurs Chat is restored

My head is saying Wednesday will be a practice session, my heart is saying get an early goal and we could have the mother of all comebacks on our hands. Barce made Real look like school kids not so long ago, now I know we aren't Barce, but with the fans pumped up and if we can grab a goal in the first 10 minutes, who knows.

Can you imagine what WHL will be like if we can grab two before half time? Bale and Lennon flying down the wings, Super Pav hammering one in from outside the area, Modric twisting and turning past three madrid players before chipping Casillas, VDV re-enacting a Van Basten special.......we are so gonna go through.

I agree aswell!! Can I be the 3rd best person in the world?!?!!

Seriously, get an early goal, and it's possible. It's one of those things you can only say around other Spurs fans, cos it sounds absolutely ridiculous, but it really isn't over until the fat lady sings, and from what I'm told, Mary Byrne did NOT win the fucking X-Factor!!!

This. Should be a good night.

Or JD plays and we see 0% possession in their half

Anything can happen with the Lane rocking. Get the ground making a noise like against the Gypsies back end of last season, or inter Milan this season.

I've kept quite quiet on this so far, but I have no doubt at all in my mind we can really give them a game. As you all say, and early goal here, an early yellow/red card there, a penalty they all make the difference and make teams nervous.

Yep... like the positivity in this thread!
It's only half time in the Quarters so anything can still happen.

Guys... seriously

I keep thinking back to Iversen's 2nd minute goal in the Carling Cup semi-final against Chelsea. I remember not only the weight it lifted off our shoulders, but the pressure it dumped on a Chelsea team who had gone into the match thinking they simply had to turn up to go to Cardiff.

I don't care whether the first is a 25 yard stunner or an on-the-line scramble after a scuffed header.... but however it goes in, it'll give everyone such a lift! The slight optimists will start to believe. The doubters will become the slight optimists.... the noise levels will increase, as will the tempo of our attacks and sweat on Sergio Ramos' brow as an adrenaline fueled Gareth Bale steamrollers past him yet again...

I really bloody well believe.

That game we ended up winning 5-1. A scoreline that if we repeated in the second leg against Madrid, we'd go out. Eek

I am not joining the bandwagon... I have been sat in the cab since Wednesday! We're going to make sporting history with the world watching :)

It did cross my mind :)

However, when Davies scored the 4th, we'd have shut up shop for a bit and won on penalties

1: We have no chance against a team with effectively a back 7.

2: I saw us play Barca in an equally meaningless game at Wembley, it was 90 of the most depressing minutes of my life.

3: It's daydreaming like this that has cost us games against shitty teams like Stoke in the league.

No it's not, It's strikers unable to put away chance after chance that has cost us against lower league opposition.
