I assume the fact that Tarrabt hasn't been recalled signals the end...

I'm surprised that in the spate of two recalls (Livermore & Townsend) that we haven't recalled Adel.

Easily much more suited to come into the business end of the season experience wise, any else seem to think the fact Adel hasn't been recalled signals the end for his tenure at Spurs come the end of the season.

I for one was so excited for this guy, he has soo much raw ability and he has scored some great goals for QPR but it appears that he doesn't seem to progressing if he can't become a fixture in a poor Championship side.

I can't see him fitting into the Spurs side at the moment though to be honest.

He'd most probably have to play either wide or off a lone striker (which I'm never keen on) and with Lennon's emergence in recent years I guess it's just been too much of a risk to put them both in together.

From reports I've read it also appears he has a slightly suspect, and possibly, arrogant attitude.

Maybe he could have been given a few more chances to fill in for our attacking wide players in the past, but now we have Lennon, Bentley, Modric and Krancjar with Townsend and Rose waiting in the wings I can't really see any room for him anymore.

I'll always remember him for taking the mick out of the Orient defenders in a pre-season friendly a few years back.

We all sat mixed and my Leyton Orient supporting god-father and a few other Orient supports were going nuts at him calling him all the names under the sun. Me and dad just laughed and had so much fun taking the piss out of my god-father!

Like many talented but temperamental players, he gets labelled a risk and with only 10 games and a cup run to go, I doubt whether Redknapp is prepared to take that risk.

I personally would, because he offers something different, even it is just 15 - 20 minutes from the end.

This guy will never make it.
I saw him play a pre season friendly against Rushden and he just wasn't up to it.
He does have raw ability but he is in his 20's now and still not progressed from when he was first here.

Yea, I would be suprised if we ever see him in a Spurs shirt again (let alone making a huge impact in the first team)

We are in that postion now though, we have grand ambitions and quality in the first team sqaud already (not to mention the money and desire to continue to add quality to this squad in the form of signings)

This will make it very difficult for youngsters to break into our squad, they will have to develop fast and really impress on loan spells to show their worth (not to mention really making the most of any chances they are given in our first team)

European football may offer more chances for such players (either in Europa or Carling cup as a result of the increase in fixtures) but it is always going to be very difficult for talented youngsters to make the break into our first team now (look how established international talents like Bentley and Pav have struggled to get playing time, let alone a developing young talent)

Good luck to them all, to be fair Taarbat got some first team opportunities with us and has had several loans to show case his skills...however both he and Dos Santos I hold little to know hope of seeing becoming first team players long term (for us I mena) let the chalice be passed to the Bostock's, Kane's, Townsend's and Mason's of our squad.....it will be a difficult task for every last one of them also but would be great to see one or two go on to be quality members of our first team.

Too similar to the likes of Modric and Kranjcar really. Townsend is a typical flying winger, which is something we miss without Lennon in the team. Livermore looks like a box to box midfielder, something we miss without Jenas. He just isn't needed. Although i doubt he'll play for us again. I'd have sooner had Giovani back than him. I doubt either will stay on though.

I saw him quite a few times for the reserves when they played at Orient. Normally after about 30 minutes Clive Allen always got so fed up telling him to pass it he just gave up and let him do what he wanted.

During one game he took it round 8 players. His shot at the end went off somewhere near the corner flag but it was still the greatest thing I've ever seen.

Perhaps, he can't be recalled?
pretty certain he cant, im sure i read that qpr sorted it out prior to the january window that he couldnt be recalled and if sold it could only be to a premier league team or something along those lines

Not really fussed, seen plenty of talented players slip through our youth system, most of whom haven't managed to emerge anywhere and just drop down the divisions.

Was far more dissappointed at the lack of opportunity afforded to Danny Hill. He was meant to be the new Hoddle!

I doubt he can be recalled. From what I can tell its only these 'youth loans' that we've started doing that can be recalled. It's quite unusual in my experience to have a recall clause in a loan contract.

When players go on loan you make an agreement with the club whether or not the player can be recalled during the loan - it usually dictates the percentage of wages payed by each club. For all the Adel and Gio lovers out there who are furious about them not being recalled, it is not always a case that all our players can be. That said, neither of the two mentioned have ever done anything in senior football to warrent the support they have at this stage so i don't think it's a big problem if they don't come back right now. Andros is someone i'd like to see get a few games as he's looked pretty good in his loan spells, always gets praise from his managers and has pace and goals in his locker - would love to see him test his ability against the top flight so he can learn how far he has still to go.

Taarabt can definately not be recalled, there is a clause in the loan contract that if a prem club wanted to buy or loan him in January then we could recall him for that purpose only.

Wasn't he an England youth captain?

Darren Caskey is another who springs to mind, a perfect example of how exciting talent at youth level does not guarentee progression will lead to similar levels of success in the professional ranks.

Andy Turner, Scott Houghton spring to mind....can a youngster dream of a better first team debut than Dean Marney had for us? If promise being shown in our first team is no direct indication of future success youth and loan spells are arguably less so.
