It tells us he should have been used instead of wasting money on stop gaps. And I don't mean this as yet another dig at Dempsey, I mean this as a dig at us as a club and our policy of integration of the development group, including AVB.
I agree totally with this but it pisses me off more because it was clear we lacked a selfless player and creative player last season and instead we went for a safe option

2 goals and an assist in the first half v. CFC U21. I really really hope we have a plan for this guy, he's become one of our better talents.

The way we've treated him has been terrible, the lad is 23 and he's been ignored like he's just another kid. He'd give us something different and it's really sad to say he won't get a proper chance with us.

Prior to Bale's move to behind the striker, I always thought Falque would have been a fantastic option there while Dempsey/Siggy struggled mightily. He was really good against Norwich in the C.O.C. and while the loan at Almeria was good, I feel like this guy (not really a kid anymore) needs to either be moved on or given a role in our side. I actually feel bad for him and I'm a bit disappointed in the way we've handled him. He definitely has that "Chelsea-esque attacking midfielder" look to him.

I was really hoping he would take some part in tomorrow's game but that's obviously not going to happen now. Does anyone know why he is being completely ignored? Ceballos as well, I know he's younger but he is getting to a point we ether loan him out or give him some cup time etc.

Maybe he isn't good enough for our first team BUT I would be sad to see him leaving without getting a fair chance in the first team. Could be a useful squad player but seems like we haven't plans for him.

The closest he got to our first team was a pre-season friendly last year against Stevenage. He scored in that, but it was a tap in iirc. After his hugely successful loan spell at Almeria and his good performances for our development squad I would really love to see him given at least a chance in the first team.

It would be fairer to Falque if he was sold to a team where he would be in 1st place for his position, as he seems to deserve a run in some team after all the loans he has been through. His Southampton loan was a joke, used for about 45 minutes in one match then never again.

He mentioned that was down to his lack of english in his opinion and not ability. Also I watched that game and the ball didn't see the pitch as it was snowed over and was nothing but lumping it for 90mins. This may also be the reason why Thiago didn't go United as he says he told him it would be difficult to fit in unless he learnt the language.

This would be true if he hadn't been shit when he played. Get rid.

sad indictment of our inability to integrate young players into the senior squad

does anybody really see falque operating at the higher end of the premiership!.. I don't.. he's nearly 24 & been playing 2nd division Spanish football... fair play to the kid as he's been outstanding there & maybe that's just possibly his level.. let him go as we got him for free with our best wishes...
thought we're trying to go places?..buying the players we have this summer shows the clubs/avbs intent & theres no room for sentiment like falque,.. he might be good next year or the year after!.. he'd be taking up a far better oversea's players place in our 25 man squad.

This, it sounded like speaking to the manager was the issue but having the guy who played you in the youth team till the first team does help

Aye, I was aware the Pep does in fact speak Spanish lol. By settle in I thought you meant integrating with his team mates, staff at the club and living in the country in general. I often wonder whether managers who speak multiple languages encourage their players to use the lingua franca at the club which they play, it would surely promote cohesion and understanding on the pitch.

Though, speaking the same language as new players who have moved to the country is obviously an advantage until they get to grips with the chosen lingua franca.

The thing is everyone in Spain and anyone watching, saw he was too good for segunda and then if you consider he was one of the best 5 players in league then it is clear he is going to make at a good level. Even more so if you consider the players who didn't perform as well have moved to mid table clubs like seville to replace Navas.

Then the players that one barca tv presenter that were among him in terms of overall quality, have all gone to top 7 clubs like Deulofeu, Luis alberto, Rafinha and etc. Some of the players he didn't include in the same bracket we tried to sign like Jese and Sergi Roberto. Also players who have played at Segunda at an older age but not performed as well include Michu, Aspas and even Carzola was playing to similar level at similar age. The first two in fact where playing in the PL a year later.

The kid clearly is quality as he has played for Real Madrid, Barca and Juve but that is part of the reason he has never developed as he has had a lack of games. Also worth noting him and Isco were practically performing at the same level 2 years ago and both as a result went to top clubs but one got played and was heralded by a lot of people as disappointing before a amazing season in the CL and the other played half a season of footy in 2 years.

People rating Falque now depend on 1 thing whether you believe as you get older you are still able to reach the potential you had, had you made the correct career moves at a young age. So if you believe that quality never goes there is no reason why Falque cant perform at the top level

if that was the case i'm sure there'd be a queue of clubs knocking the door down to sign him from us?.. there is not.. as I said no room for sentiment if we want a squad that's going to challenge.
