Tottenham are sending Spanish attacking midfielder Iago Falque back to his homeland on loan. The 23-year-old spent the second half of last season at Almeria and helped them win promotion to La Liga. Now Falque is heading to Rayo Vallecano for a season-long spell.

Glad he's not being sold but would have liked to see him loaned to a Prem club to see how he'd fare.

Still got a lot of potential this lad.

A little concerned as to why we can't find him a Premiership loan. He's got to get used to playing in this country. As much as he was brilliant last year in the Spanish second division and could do well in the first division, he could struggle over here if he doesn't get used to our game.

Realistically I doubt this guy will ever play for us. We got him pretty cheap and are gradually raising his profile for a nice few million of profit. Unless he absolutely tears it up in La Liga in which case we may just give him a chance. Nice work if you can get it!

Yes, that's the best news regarding Falque. Paco Jemez is gonna make him a great footballer, you'll see :)

He may play for us still, depends how he gets on over there. If he weren't our player and plays a blinder for Vallecano, following in the footsteps of the Michu (albeit a different type of player) he'd be someone we'd be interested in. If he has a good season I can see him coming back into the squad as a squad player, he may yet be a late developer. But yes, this is really the last year we can realistically let him go out on loan again as he's now in his mid 20s. It's win-win situation really.

Personally i like this player. But i have my reservation on whether he fits into AVB plans. You see AVB likes his wide man big and strong. So unless, Iago Falque develop crazy skills in this 1 year loan, he would be sold eventually. It is the same for Cristian Ceballos for me. The only position, i think he would fit into AVB's team would be that of Siggy's - in the current first 11. I think when AVB brought in Mata to Chelsea, it was to play that same position for Chelsea too......

That being said, although Lennon is not the blueprint of AVB's wide man, Lennon have lots of pace to burnt. And he works extra hard for the team, although there are obvious short comings to his game. So he is safe for this season. IMHO, He needs to show improvements over the course of this season to survive potential "culling" next summer.

Where we were a few seasons ago, then Falque would have been in our team/squad every week.

Now however I believe he will never wear the first team badge again. Another loan at least allows prospective purchasers to look, and to be fair he deserves that.

Like this option. Certainly better than selling him. I reckon he will play for us next season, this is one loan I'm certain were got right.

It's a smart move for all involved. If he gets a loan to Vallecano and impresses, he may have multiple suitors from La Liga which in turn would undoubtedly raise his value. I don't think he has a future here so all around it makes sense.

Ultimately i agree as we dont have space in our squad but I wouldnt be surprised if he was playing for a top 6 la llga team next season though technically he is at a top 8 team atm

Though Im surprised he hasnt gone Celta and joined the project at home, I think personally we fucked his career with poor loan choices in the last 2 years, though you can say Juve did the same
