I hate Martin Tyler plus a few pundits around such as Gabby Agbonlahor who is a ****, Danny Mills who is a miserable **** and Tyler who is a droning ****.

I dont mind the TV coverage and think we expect it to be top notch viewing and whilst I appreciate we pay an extortionate amount so expect high quality coverage/punditry, you cant please everyone if they got the best

Dont palce too much reliance on it. Im happy to be just watching the football

And I wish they would stop mentioning a player's or manager's nationality. How many times do we hear, "player X receives the ball and the Argentine / Portuguese / Outer Mongolian passes it to player Y". I'm no expert but I don't believe they do that in other country's. Why constantly harp on about where an individual hails from?

This is a bugbear of mine too and perhaps points to the outdated style of football coverage. It was probably relevant when the only foreigners in the league were the likes of Klinsmann or Bergkamp and the majority of the players were English. But there’s so many nationalities playing in the league now it’s not really note worthy.

As for my ideal coverage, I think it would be nice if the pre match build up actually discussed the tactics that each team were likely to play and how effective they are etc. Rather than pointless waffle about all sorts of meaningless shite. Sky do this kind of analysis quite well on a Monday night, the rest of their coverage is very dumbed down with creaking pundits like Souness who should have been put out to pasture long ago.

I’d also like commentators to let the game do the talking rather than waffling on like Tyler does, it’s just constant factoids that have no bearing on the game, like “Spurs have never beaten Fulham during a full moon, and the last time they score two or more goals against them was when the mercury was in retrograde and Aquarius was in ascendency.” It’s as if they can’t bare the thought of just saying the players names as they pass to each other.

What frustrates me the most about Tyler in particular is that he clearly loves football, but the way he talks during the matches makes it sound like he’s not actually interested in the game that is being played.

I wish the pundits would do their home work too, Sky and BT just seem to be happy to have big names filling the studio, but the better pundits seem to be the less capable players, the bigger the name the more likely they are to just coast through making cliched remarks.

I guess what I want is commentary and pundits that are genuinely enthusiastic about the game and sharing that game with us the viewers.

Pre game show - James Richardson talks with a couple of pundits (I think I’ll keep Jenas in there, Maybe Ferdinand and one other) about the game that’s about to take place - Not the current situations at United, Liverpool and whichever other top 6 clubs they assume everyone cares about. An actual pre game show, and make it about half an hour. No one needs to be tuning in an hour before a standard league game between Sheffield United and Southampton to hear about how much longer Ole might be manager at United.

Post game - Again, only about a half hour. Show the goals, Red cards, penalties etc. Quick interviews with goalscorers, MOTM, managers and finish up by showing how it leaves the table - done.

During the match, commentary from people who are knowledgeable instead of just people who have played for United, Liverpool and Arsenal, who in the most part just make it seem like you are watching the channel of whichever of those clubs is playing. I agree with the above as well, would be good to see them actually do some research, listening to some commentators these days you could easily believe football isn’t played outside of England.

If you asked the main sky pundits a question about a player in the championship or league one or two they would be scrambling to tell you anything about them . That is why I like Clinton Morrison he has vast knowledge of lower leagues even national league players not just the premier league like the rest of the muppets .

Anyone watched N17s pre match coverage yet?

I miss the old school Motty and Davies.

BBC always find the most boring pundits some how.

Sky have watched AFTV and thought this is the way to go. It’s just awful.

All your commentary is better than it is here. It was bearable at first, but then I made the mistake of learning Spanish.
